The River Tyne

Sunday 12th July

Good photo rastone, Ive never seen this one, Very interesting, A fishing patrol vessel Im told, Regards Larry.

Lads, this thread is magnificent! I’m a bonny lad, born in South Shields in 1943, now exiled to GoC, aka south Wales. These pics are invoking some wonderful memories for me. I’ve not been on the Tyne since the Tall Ships in 2005, when I arranged to meet some cousins in the Tyne on the Saturday night, but couldn’t get near the place.
I worked for a Cardiff based haulage firm with a depot in Felling, then latterly in Birtley, so travelled up and down quite often from Wales to Newcastle.
Great memories, great pics. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for that.I’ve got an old Pentax camera with only a low zoom and I didn’t think it would come out as well but it’s amazing when you can crop them and cut out a lot of water, grass and sky.

By the way, good ale in Newcastle and good people pet.

Tony
