D2 and D4 forms requested from the monkeys in Swansea.
I can almost smell the stench of disappointment wafting from the agencies already!

Good luck to you!
I have my D2/D4 forms and am awaiting my medical on the 18th. I have an issue though, after my medical if I send my license off I might be in a bit of trouble if it takes months for the DVLA to return it as I require it for a coughspeed awarenesscough course.
I’ve also sent off for my digital tachograph card, perhaps a little on the early side but I’d rather have everything ready and waiting for when I need it.
Hi
My licence and tacho cards only took six days to come back when i added my Cat C to it a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting for DQC card.

So good at speeding you’re being offered points for performance! Well done LittleCar [emoji6]
It had never occurred to me I could apply for that before passing the tests. One step ahead of me you are!
Where are you getting your medical done? GP or one of the various driver medical companies?

That sounds pretty prompt Neil. Was that after applying for the provisional or after passing the test?

After passing the test, although it didn’t take too long to come back when applying for the provisional. I was worried though as i’d heard it was taking ages!

I have heard some of the horror stories on here, it sounds like you were a lucky one.
They seem to be pretty quick atm. Been told delays happen if the system is clogged up
I got my d4 forms 5/6 days after applying for them
Sent my medical report away yesterday so not expecting to wait any longer than 10 days hopefully for provisional
Will post when i receive it

Thanks Tommy. It seems I have picked the right time to start doing this.

One of the private companies. At only £58 it was almost half the price of my GP!

I think that’s the way i’m going to do it. Got a quote of £48 for one recommended a few times on here and very local to me.
Watch out at those cheap medicals! i had one, he asked me in a rather camp voice to take off my trousers, i asked where shall i put them and he replied “over there with mine”. That’s when i knew i should have paid the extra!!
Ah I bet he gave you a good prostate exam!
Received tacho card this morning
5/6 day wait

Don’t try and scaremonger Neil. I’ve been told it’s standard practise for all HGV medicals to be conducted in Mykonos.

Didn’t realise you’d branched out into medicals!
Keep checking online to see if you can book your test
I couldnt yesterday but could today. Might be a gamble as you have not got provisional yet but if you give 3 days notice you get full refund
Mine booked for 15th feb, sure as i am now allowed to book Card should be here well before then
Sounds like the DVLA are on top of things at the moment. Sent off for my tacho card on Saturday and received it today.
Once I have my medical done and both D2 & D4 forms sent off I think I’ll use your trick Tommy so that I can get my three exams out of the way as early as possible.
Hi I have gone through the usual motions of sorting out the crooks and the thieves regarding class 2 + 1 training and have my first go check and see appointment at 1st Approach Training in Peterborough they are an independent training centre and finally spoke with someone that gave me straight forward answers and help. I had also looked into Scania training and Peter Smyth who also provided 1st class help, but due to location and a recommendation from a friend 1st Approach seems like the ideal candidate. Any advice would be most helpful. Thank you.
