Sounds like the DVLA are on top of things at the moment. Sent off for my tacho card on Saturday and received it today.
Once I have my medical done and both D2 & D4 forms sent off I think I’ll use your trick Tommy so that I can get my three exams out of the way as early as possible.
Defo way forward and if u havent received card near test date phone DVLA and ask if its been posted, if not gives u plenty time to cancel and re-book
You probably will get 2 on same day, i did
One at 8am, then Hazard at 9.15 am, Happy days

Keep checking online to see if you can book your test
I couldnt yesterday but could today. Might be a gamble as you have not got provisional yet but if you give 3 days notice you get full refund
Mine booked for 15th feb, sure as i am now allowed to book Card should be here well before then
I didn’t think you could book anything online until the provisional entitlement had been added on by the DVLA?

Hi I have gone through the usual motions of sorting out the crooks and the thieves regarding class 1 training and have my first go check and see appointment at 1st Approach Training in Peterborough they are an independent training centre and finally spoke with someone that gave me straight forward answers and help. I had also looked into Scania training and Peter Smyth who also provided 1st class help, but due to location and a recommendation from a friend 1st Approach seems like the ideal candidate. Any advice would be most helpful. Thank you.
Peter Smythe seems like the way forward for me if I’m honest. Even though I’m coming from Swansea, the recommendations and reviews on here and elsewhere speak volumes about try quality of training provided in my opinion.

I don’t think I can deal with the disappointment of logging on to find it unavailable [emoji52]

They were my choice but decided that travelling or even staying in Mansfield was not the best as I have familly close to Peterborough and have some driver friends close by to bother along the way. Hopefully after recommendation also things will be good. I do hope so.

Let us know how you get on mate.
Provisional received this morning
DVLA defo on the ball
Well I’m making progress too now. I had my medical on Friday and sent everything off to the DVLA same day, they signed for it all on Saturday. As of Tuesday I was able to book my theory tests so I’ve booked all three for March 21st; it’ll be a long day at the test centre.
Also after much deliberation I’ve finally chosen who I will be doing my training with and paid my deposit. I’m going with Peter Smythe.
How are you getting along Snoozy?
How did your tests go Tommy? Did you book your training yet?

Good choice on the training provider!
Remember with the 3 tests on the same day as I did you generally don’t have to wait until the exact start time. Mine were booked one after another and I had all 3 done and was out of there in an hour.
I’ve been reading this thread & all seems to be going great, good luck on the 18th.
However I’m a bit confused
I’ve done my hazard perception & theory, but when logging into the DVLA link to book tests, i.e. I want to do module 2 it doesnt show module 2 as an option, although it shows my module 1a & 1b tests as passes.
Any ideas ■■
Steve.
Just had a thougt
is it not showing because I did my driving test back in 1994 ? therefore am I exempt from mod 2 ?
Because you have a pre 1997 cat B you will have had grandfather rights for C1 (7.5t) therefore you could just do 35 hours in the classroom for another 5 year CPC or you could chose to do Mods 2 and 4

Yeah I remember them letting people go straight in for a second test when I Did my car theory and wondered what that was about and know a person who said they’re still doing that at my local centre as she was in for car theory recently. So fingers crossed I’ll be done in no time and able to enjoy the days holiday I’ve used up for it
Regarding the mod 2 booking issue, you might want to give the DVLA a quick call as a just in case!

Yep the 35hrs is what i’m planning at doing at the moment in order to do some C1 work to save for my C license.
A bit long winded, but I’ll get to class 1 one day

You seem miles ahead of me at the moment.
I’m still waiting for the microbes at the DVLA to pull their fingers out.
Don’t tell me you’re still waiting for the forms?
I got my licence back too which is great as I need it for next weekend, but the idiots at DVLA have destroyed my old one and wasted my tax money making a new one, even though the only thing that has changed its the online counter part.

Indeed! I have requested twice online and phoned up to chase. Only to be told “they are on the way”. That’s all well and good but they don’t seem to be on the way to my address!
Ah, the DVLA, never failing to impress.
On a more positive note I have paid my deposit for PSTT so it’s starting to feel real now.
The provisional is the only part I found the DVLA slow on, the rest they are very quick to process…
PSTT worked well for me, and I’m a gobby git!
Best of luck panda man, or woman!
You won’t regret going with Pete and the residential course suited me, as training is tiring due to the nervous energy you burn. So only having to focus on the course and nothing else can be a good thing!
That’s 20 quid you owe me Pete!
