The International Fleet

Which British companies are doing European work as the bulk of their work still? I had this conversation a little while ago and couldn’t think of all that many. Brian Yeardley, Ray White, Grampian, SK Haulage, EM Rogers and Matthews were about it. I don’t mean companies who do a bit of Europe but ones which do mainly continental work or at least have a good part of their fleet doing it.

That’s obviously not including the likes of Transam or other gig type companies, removals or the Larkhall lot who go no further than Bolougne.

Who are that lot with the Orange and green low loaders? I see them along with Walker Modular fairly often.

I do see British motors abroad but am never sure who are still doing regular work or just bits and pieces.

Not sure about Middlegate, they look as though they mostly go over the channel.

I think two biggest S@k haulage who do delivery from Baary to mainly Belgium,France,Italy, little to Spain ,Holland.
Second biggest Matthews from Great Yarmonth. They mainly delivery pharmaceutical to near all Europe. And as well do collection and delivery outside UK.All rest company who do Eu job I think have less that 10 truck

Alcaline. As for Matthew’s they aren’t all that big are they? Admittedly you see them all over place but I don’t think they are in same size league as S&K

Is Richard Long still going? Just thinking I’ve not seen any of their lorries in a long.while

I’ll asssume that’s cos they don’t go over any more.

May be S@K slightly biggest but no so much. But Matthews truck and trailers in much better condition and more new.But wages at S@K Slightly better.

They’re advertising for drivers, so I assume they’re still going.

You have the specialist car movers like Ontime, Kentvale (already mentioned) Acumen and CARS and a few smaller operations doing the work.
