I have it on good authority that who ever claims the first post on page 100 of this fine thread will win a case of Glenmorangie and a weekend for two at the Travelodge in Bacup Anon 1.
Hiya,
And the person who comes second gets a month in the same Travelodge.
thanks harry, long retired.
Can’t you make it Carnforth truckstop Dennis? i could do some Eddie spotting
Too expensive “pete” and besides “H” is a native of East Lancs and has contacts in Bacup,i.e. one of his relatives is house keeper at Travelodge and can smuggle the winner in through the back entrance so it will really cost him nowt for the prize Cheers Dennis.
Hiya,
Dennis, just spotted and I quote " and besides “H” is a native of East Lancs", Dennis
my friend since when has No 23 St Georges Quay, Lancaster. been in East Lancs, I
happen to be a " slinger " although am quite happy to be a semi-skilled Durhamite
having been resident here for about 43 years over half my present lifespan.
thanks harry, long retired.

Unforgiveable “H” please accept my “humblest” however I have made suitable, and I believe acceptable redress and changed the venue for the ah! ah! cough cough!! winner,it is much closer for me in any case !! If you care to re-visit the origional post on page 99 (change hands!!) you will see my edit.Cheers Dennis.
Dave the Renegade:
Not Harry’s favorite motor, but this one did some miles.
Cheers Dave.
I believe “H” has sent his CV to Swains as he is,after all,a competent waggon and trailer driver and this Scania looks like his sort of rig !!Cheers Dennis.

Dennis you are right cos Harry only said Scania 80 tractor units were crap not prime movers!
pete smith:
Harry i’m sure Dennis is organising the best accomodation for yourself in Milnthorpe,my guess it might be a Scania 80
Hiya,
Well Pete, Dennis knows he’d be a fleet motor down the little 80 thing would be nice
and warm I’d set the bleedin’ thing alight, as we speak he’s fabricating an eight pot
percy engined Big “J” especially for me, the pride of the fleet and the only one in the
world, which after many photo shoots from the rear will be my allocated motor.

That Scania should be the 32 ton spec,Intercool engine and 10 speed box ! If,unfortunately,it is the non intercooled with 5 speed box I will personally rip up “H”'s CV even I as a former gaffer wouldn’t dream (or dare) of inflicting that outfit on a timed served top man like “H” !! Cheers Dennis.

Hiya,
No No No, I said as a thirty two tonner, and unless this is carrying a capacity load it’ll struggle.
thanks harry, long retired.

Harry as you got 100 pages to your name you can leave trailer behind and run solo, that way Dennis has’nt gotta splash out on an intercooler or rangechange box, thus more money in your wage packet
Hiya,
Aye’, and a four wheeler is about right for one of those heaps of rubbish, but just
looking at the trailer double wheels all round, what weight can you legally put on
that I only ever pulled a single wheel all round job and we put six tons on them a
BRS ruling, and fourteen tons on the legger twenty ton payload which was plenty
for a Leyland 600 or a 150 Gardner, although I think at one point you could put a
sixteen ton load on an eight wheeler you had to be quick and expert to find the
crawler gear when you hit a hill ie’ Shap for example.

just had to bump this up , we can’t have our esteemed leader on page 2 just when he’s topped 100 . i’m afraid the fan club are failing badly .
I think the Scania 81 has had a bad reaction of anti Scania 80 series from Harry, which frightened people Dave. They might re-appear now after a period in hiding.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
Howay, everybody who looks in on here is probably on holiday as I will shortly, the
good lady and me are having a few days in Torquay so I’ll be “off air” for a bit, the
last time I was in Torquay was with a load of tubes from Scotland and I ran empty
from there to Cornwall for a load of china clay, I emphasise off air I wouldn’t dare
mention taking the puter’ along she’d kill me so I’ll obey and I may just have a very
peaceful few days letting the bus take the strain.
thanks harry, long retired.

Have a good time Harry. We went to Blackpool last weekend and used the tram which meant, not having to find car parks etc. First time I had been a passenger on anything for years.Great way to travel along the sea front.
Cheers Dave.
animal:
No hols this year for me due to working so you lot can go on your hols
But next year have a week planned so far
Hiya,
That’s a good girl Ang you keep grafting and topping the pension pot up and if you
manage to escape next year and it’s in the same place as me I’ll gladly apply your
sun tan lotion (when the missus isn’t looking) that is I’m not very brave where the
ladies are concerned.
thanks harry, long retired.
rigsby:
have a good holiday harry , we’ll struggle on until you come back , a leaderless rabble eh ? cheers , dave
Hiya,
I’m not going until next week “Riggers”, and I think you’ll fare well without me anywhere
near the helm, most likely a bit of sense may return in my absence and that wouldn’t be
a bad thing I’ve just noticed that the hotel states “no wifi” so smuggling the puter would
be a no no. and not worth the risk of the wife finding out. She packs a mean punch.
thanks harry, long retired.

Well Lads that’s the job knackered then for the duration,I don’t know how “H” could inflict “this silence” on his thread,he could,at least, have stayed in a 5 star establishment that provided free WiFi instead of a back street B&B,he told me that his balcony looked out across the bay !! not the back of a Chines restaurant ( by the way mines Chips with some HP sauce on them “H”!) Oh! well we’ll just have to struggle along in the meantime without the benefit of “H”'s ill-gotten experience in such places as The Brown Bear in Leman St. How will we survive the next couple of weeks All the same “H” have a good holiday mate,I’m sure you will Cheers Dennis.
