The eu referendum- how do you intend to vote?

Osbourne has made it sound like the moment we vote for Brexit - all the money coming THIS way stops that instant, and the money we pay the other way - continues as normal when in fact it too should stop that instant.

If Cameron and Osbourne are warning us in advance that "The moment we vote for Brexit - we will steal and rob the British people of millions per day by KEEPING ON paying the EU - then it creates a strong urgency for them to be removed by Breakfast time Friday morning… :open_mouth:

The interim PM and Chancellor need to then default all as yet unmade payments to the EU ON THE SPOT.

I have no doubt at all that the EU would love to coninue accepting any payments that continue to be made to them - beyond our vote for Brexit.

Possession is 9/10ths of the law as always. If you give your money to a crook - the crook didn’t steal it, and therefore avoids yet again that label of “Being a crook at all”.

Stop giving. Even if we cannot take back overnight - at least stop paying it out! That takes a firm instruction to the treasury to stop all payments - that’s all.
The Bank of England can wait until any initial spike up in the Euro occurs - before selling that lot out at the top of the market.
They do have rather a large position in Euro investments, especially the currency itself after all.

There are three main reasons why Gorgeous George won’t present the spending cuts and tax rises emergency budget he promises if Britain votes to leave.

First, because were Brexit really to lead to an immediate economic convulsion, he would do the opposite of what he says he’d do. Rather than raise taxes and cut spending, he would cut taxes and raise spending.

Second, because were even he stupid enough to try to do the opposite, the Commons would stop him.

And, third, because in the event of Britain quitting the EU he won’t be Chancellor for long, and will thus be in no position to present a Budget at all.

The polls must really be rattling the Remain campaign for Osborne to produce absolute rubbish like this. What next, the end of western civilisation? :unamused:

I give Osborne one thing, he’s loyal to call me Dave. He’s put his loyalty above his political career

Ever thought why the great and the good of the EU, the Heads of State, are not debating the referendum? Apparently Cameron has asked Merkel to stay out of the campaign altogether, even to the point where comments intended to provide support are not wanted. There’s a surprise! :unamused:

And this article in Der Spiegel reports that Jean-Claude Juncker is set to make a major intervention in the referendum next week. Seems like Cameron made an extraordinary deal with Juncker whereby the Commission would keep quiet during the campaign, on the condition that he could intervene in the last few days if the polls had Brexit ahead:

“Juncker had to promise British Prime Minister David Cameron that the EU executive branch would stay out of the Brexit debate… Juncker only managed to convince Cameron to give him a small loophole: If Brexit supporters have a clear lead in polls in the week prior to the June 23 referendum, the Commission president will be allowed to make his voice heard. That, of course, would be too late to significantly shift public opinion, but it would mean that Juncker could not be accused of having done nothing to prevent a Brexit. Under no circumstances does Juncker want to go down in history as the first Commission president to preside over a member state departing the EU.”

That’s Brexit home and dry then. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm, is it not more likely his alliances lie within the Remain camp so leave him nowhere else to go? David Milliband stylee…

^ This.
I don’t think there’s any if or question about exactly what Cameron is threatening here.We have to remember that these people see the EU as their ‘country’ and it’s the EU where their allegiance is.Cameron was hoping for a walk over and now he sees a strong secessionist movement he’s taking the typically expected Federalist EU line.IE if we rebel he’ll cut off the money supply and divert it to his EU friends. While look on the bright side in many historic examples the Federal government forces would already be on the streets now enforcing ‘order’ against the secessionist ‘rebels’ having cancelled the referendum because it doesn’t fit the Federalist script.

Did I mention I’ve bought my Euros for next months holiday[emoji4] ?
Reasonably confident we won’t need visa’s !

On the Today programme on R4 this morning George Osbourne told the truth for a change:

Today: “The Guardian is reporting this morning that Downing Street is considering whether there could be anything more to offer in terms of perhaps controls on freedom of movement that would reassure voters who were worried about the open door to this country for EU citizens. Is there?

Osborne: “The short answer is no.”

A clear admition that Remain cannot offer any reform of free movement.

They’ve both put their loyalty to the EU federation above that of the nation which is the more important point. :bulb:

The fact is we are tied to exactly the same conditions in the EU treaties that we were subject to before his so called ‘reforms’.No signed amendments whatsoever were actually made.

It’s a shame the betting is suggesting that “momentum has run out” again, with the price for remain coming back in from 4/6 to 1/2 over the past couple of days.

Who ARE these people lumping on Remain to win FFS?

Junker COULD I suppose promise us the earth next week - and coming from him, a lot of muppets up and down the country will believe it when they should really be treating the entire Remain camp as Lord HawHaw by this point.

“We promise to talk about immigration - if you vote remain”.

Not good enough. We need emergency laws enacted by next thursday. Laws like@-

“Britain gets 100% of all the money back it’s paid in so far, to be cleared funds in Britain BY thursday 23rd…”

"The EU is now going to deport 100% of ALL persons arriving in the EU from anywhere that have no papers. "

That second one is a bit trickier, because it’s going to be damned difficult to get them all out by thursday - which is about the only way we’re going to believe it! :smiling_imp:

If Juncker says that he’s now abandoned all hope for a Federal Europe in favour of a Confederal Europe which returns full sovereignty,to the seperate states and removes our net contribution requirement, with all existing EU treaties annulled as of 22/6/2016 I’ll vote to remain.Other than that the Socialist scumbag should go home and stay there he’s not welcome here.

I am voting out but only just .

Not only that, the heads of France, Germany and Poland are all on record stating they only gave Cameron these “concessions” so he had something to go back with so that after the vote they could rescind them.

This is where you and I depart CF; I won’t be bought at any price. I’m out - completely out!

Worth a watch if you’ve got a spare half hour. Sums the argument up for me

Haha…cheers for that Goldi. Yeah it’s part of my 2016 summer collection.

What you can’t see is my hand woven bamboo sandals that I am wearing. I found a small Afghan refugee boy in my trailer last week whilst brushing it out. Thought I would put him to work.
