The screen washers are poor on all our XF and CF models, I usually pull the pipe off the jets to actually get any water out. When I used to fit new jets on them I would always adjust the n/s top jets further out to hit the screen near the end of the blades. Our newer 64 plate CF’s o/s wiper seem to have to much sweep and strike the edge of the screen which is annoying. A trim at the screen edges to stop the screen water fouling the mirrors would be welcome too.

They’ve not had more since those. What 16 plates they’ve had have come from Scania.
I had no end of warnings flashing up on the CF today; yellow EBS brake warning, Air pressure low, air pressure sensor (including pressure gauge going up and down like a priests’ bum in a choirboys’ bedroom) and have had no cruise control for several months.
There’s been a “sensor fault” on digi tacho display tonight, apparently. Just had a text to say this has just gone out. The problem has been traced to a cluster of wires being worn through by rubbing of the cab near the jacking point.
Even for a Daf this must be a record for the most faults/warnings in one day?
Not forgetting my seats’ height that only adjusts from “midget on a prayer mat” to “midget in a high chair.”

The seat thing where you have quickly push up/down until it random settles at the right height and seem to recall it’s the plastic bit of the rocker switch that is broken and doesn’t close the valve properly when you click it back to the middle which means you have to click it the other way.
One thing I don’t like with the current XF is the headlight cluster with the LED indicator in that you can’t see well. Whichever government/EU body which approves these things should never have allowed design to take over and indicators be anything other than orange lenses illiminated by an incandescent lamp on each outermost corner of the vehicle.

That’s it, exactly what I’ve been doing. It’s booked in at HTC Wednesday night to get all these stupid niggles sorted. The truck’s 8 years old in June so it’s really done its’ time.

Anyone know how to cure a leaky sunroof in a CF? I thought it was condensation but I found a slight drip today even though it’s been parked up all day.
I’ve checked for twigs, dirt etc all to no avail. There is some moss between the sunroof and the roof but nothing major.
If the sun roof is like the Alpha before you blow £60 on a new rubber check the stainless Spring tongues at the front ,the screws that hold them to the glass could be loose ,look behind the plastic cover which pulls off to find the screws .

Boss has had the sundoof done once with labout cost £300. I think your right about the tongues/brackets as I found some water around them today.
Dear Daf why do you seemingly tie air hoses into clusters, leaving them to chafe together? Yes I’m currently broke down because of this.
Also why is your new truck configurator so crap? No matter how I adjust my screen I cannot see most of the icons. I’ve been on Mercedes one and theirs’ is much better, MANs very basic bit at least it works.
Enquired on behalf of my boss for a 420 S cabbed Arocs and a MAN TGS 440. Would’ve done a CF Construction 440 too if it’d worked…
We have an 59 plate XF which has a fairly loud squeal at low speeds (less than 10 mph). We assume its coming from one of the wheels (not sure which) and when its been in for service multiple times we have asked them to try and suss out what the problem is but it never gets diagnosed or fixed.
Can anyone shed any light?
One of the niggles this 8w went into Daf for, was to get the cruise control working. Apparently “it was stuck on 32mph” was the diagnosis. I can’t see how when the cc memory is wiped once the engine is turned off.
The SE fitter we use for inspections put his laptop onto the truck and it said “brake input sensor fault.” So why didn’t Daf check/replace this?

tiger seal it up, run tiger seal around every ■■■■ and cranny on the outside, disconnect the wires at the sunroof motor so it cant be opened
Dear DAF,
Why did you design your mirrors to deflect spray and bugs right against the part of the window that you need to look through to use the mirrors?!
Why doesn’t the very well place door lock switch in the centre console lock BOTH doors?!
Why doesn’t your cruise button have a “hold down for 5kph increments” function?! Accelerating from 50-90 is such a mission at 0.5kph per press that it’s easier to use your foot.
Dear Daf your viscous fan and window regulator failed today after 17 yrs ,I’ve paid you £499 for new ones ,it wouldn’t happen on an ERF !
Just taken over a 17 plate unit, anyone know how to exit the computer other than stopping and turning the electrics off?

You mean the display computer between the dials?.Its the little button below the knob that you turn to select the different screens

Why design the SSC roof so that when it rains, the water streams in the window when you open it
Why are the wipers so noisy
WHY HAVE YOU RELEASED A NEW XF WITH A 30 YEAR OLD CAB
Why does 90% of the information in your manual about the AEBS tell us what it can’t do and almost nothing about what it can do
Why is vision to the nearside so restricted

Yep, that’s the one, but once any screen is selected there is no way out that I can find to look at something else, e.g. if I choose to look at how much air is in the tanks then I’m stuck with that until I stop and turn off the ignition, pressing or turning the button does absolutely nothing.

Have you tried the return arrow button below the actual knob you turn? Looks similar to the return key on a keyboard.
