Your right there. I needed a break work was getting to me “co-op good with food not with people” get treated like ■■■ too many managers and we get treated like a number not a name. I cant wait to hand in my notice hopefully soon
Really looking forward to going in tomorrow ha.
Dan
Not long now:-) looking forward to the drive up there sunday night ready for bright and early monday morning.
Any helpful tips would be great:-)
Dan
You will be fine. You are in good hands.
Listen to your instructor. He has done it a lot longer than you.
Ask questions. There are no stupid ones :-/
If you still don’t understand we are here to help.
A diary would be great.
Best of luck.
Best of luck, chill out …and enjoy

Well today is the day i shall be leaving for essex about 7 pm after my son has gone to bed so will get there after 9. I hope everything goes to plan next week and im one of the first time passes. Well off to enjoy the day with the family.
Dan
Enjoy the training dan, looking forward to reading about your progress. You are in good hands as John is a top class trainer
Well ive just got here left a tad later then i thought i would and got hold up on the m25 for half hour for no reason that i could see… Travelodge better than i thought basic but ok.
Thanks Ian im really looking forward to it but i dont have john for driver training just the cpc on tuesday night i have a chap called andy (i think he said andy have to check my txt) and another trainee.
Right time to watch the tv and get some shut eye ready for a full day.
Dan
Day 1,
Arrived at the yard about half 7 met the other trainee after saying hello and having a smoke Andy arrived then we had a walk around the lorry getting to know where the switches and where everything was…
then came the bit ive been waiting for the driving so we all jumped in with andy in the driver seat and took us out to show us how to change the gears and get the right lines when turning, andy pulled up and the other guy jumped into the drivers seat and got us going then after he had his go it was mine
but obv after never being in a lorry well driven one i wasnt that good it took a while to get to grips with everything happening at was even tho ive drove for 7+ years its all new remembering to M.S.M all over again and block gear changing and watching my speed.
Tea break… ■■■ wooo and relax
After the other guy had his go it was mine again an i was getting a bit better remembered to do everything i needed only hit a couple of kerbs and getting the right road position saying that as the day went on i started to mess things up firts day nerves too hot i dont know but lets say im not ready.
Day 2,
Up bright and early half 6 due to the window blind broken so up shower again and talk to the wife to see if my son slept ok think he has more teeth coming through…anyway… At the yard just before half 7 and sat and waited andy arrived about 745 so just the othe chap to come 30mins later and we are off minus 1 so straight into the hot seat and everything is falling in to place mirrors right gears right position in road feel comfy in driving seat andy gets a phone call from john to say he has just woken the other guy up and will b at the yard at 930 so after putting in a good hour + drive we pick himup and have a debreif and i was told that if i drive like that in my test ive passed with minors wooo but… The last 15+mins i lost track of things and started making silly mistakes…2nd drive good putting right the mistakes ive made and making progress…3rd drive shocking everything im doing is going wrong i dont know whats happening and im really disappointed with myself i feel like just stopping and getting out and changing but i push on back to the yard for my cpc training which was really good.
Day 3,
Cpc test day ooooOooo and i…PASS with 100% thanks to john and his training and andy running through the question on the way to the test center.
Afer we were happy with being able to go backwards in to a box we both picked it up quicky after getting the marker were we needed it to be all without a shunt 6 or 7 times everytime apart from the first go where i hit the barrier but still every other time bang on so off we go and im up first drive spot on again going through some really windy roads really had to focus driving reaally coming together everything falling into place few little mistakes here and there but nothing major and andy tells me im ready for test wooo 2nd drive test route and i failed doing 40 on a dual cway and hit a kerb and to harsh brakeing i just looked my mirrior and asi looked up there was people on a crossing so stopped but a bit to harsh… All my last drives are bad so im not feeling positive for 1230 thursday but then on the other had all my last drives are at 230/315 and its really hot so i dont know if that has somthin to do with it having 3 andhalf hours driving on and off in heat and being focused all the time takeing it out off me…hmmmm i will pass…
Don’t panic too much sounds like your getting on fine. as well as the heat it may be fatigue getting to you with the afternoon drives, whilst your giving 100% in the morning by afternoon you may be down to 65-75% and it only takes one small error like clipping a kerb then you start kicking yourself and this leads to more. The instructor isn’t being paid to feed you BS, If he’s giving you the encouragement that you should pass then believe in it and you’ll be ok

+1.
You are doing ok. Good luck for tomorrow. Let’s hope you come away with that blue certificate
Dan and Megan both done well today with the CPC. Where possible it is good to do the MOD4 on the same course but before the Practical, although Megan had already passed the practical. It gives candidates a feel for the test centre and makes them feel the examiner is human.
Andy is a highly experienced trainer and assures me Dan is ready. After that it is C+E then a job.
Keep the faith
Ive passed wooooooo 3 faults - undue hesitation - move off safety - approach speed. Now the long drive home to see my family
Dan
Congratulations dan. Its a long time ago but I can still remember smiling for a week after passing.
