In view of the success of Robert Serry’s mission in convincing the Russian loyalists and forces in Crimea to hand the place over to Ukrainian control Obama and Merkel have ordered him to fly directly to Northern Ireland to order the British loyalists and forces to do the same in the case of handing over Northern Ireland to the Republic.
However there are unsubstantiated reports that he and his team have had to take refuge in an unknown cafe in Belfast, from a mixed group made up of British Army personnel and loyalists waving the the union flag.Who seem to be saying that they have orders from William Hague to drag him out and take him to the airport to send him back to Brussels.Although some reports say that gunfire and explosions have been heard.
Meanwhile Obama has denied all knowledge of both operations blaming it all as a diversionary tactic,by Basque nationalists,to further their unjustified aims of seperation from Spain. While under the delusion, that such seperation, would automatically qualify them for billions of dollars’ worth of US and EU financial aid.In which case they wouldn’t need to worry about the unemployment in Western Europe because they could all afford to retire.
Meanwhile William Hague has said that until evidence is seen on the ground in the Crimea,of withdrawal of Russian forces, and the handover of it’s control to Ukraine, the deployment of the Light Brigade is to continue.Although the EU has expressed concern as to the welfare of the horses during the long sea journey after the originally planned joint Polish and Romanian road transport operation was dropped when a Chinese shipper under cut the price quoted.
I’m from n ireland hope it will be one with the republic one day and hope Ukraine becomes its own country away from Russia
In the case of Ireland Michael Collins realised that the loyalists aren’t just going to disappear or change to being for the Republic. The Ukrainians need to follow his example in it’s dealings with Eastern Ukraine. As for the issues of Ukraine in general it’s more a case of the EU and NATO stirring up trouble as part of an obvious ( dangerous ) agenda of shifting it’s borders Eastwards onto Russia’s turf which is likely to blow up in NATO’s face at some point if it doesn’t change/reverse course. We’ve been here before in 1914 it’s just that ironically then we were on the side of Russia when we should have been on the side of Germany or preferably neutral.Whereas now we’re on the side of Germany when we should be on the side of Russia or preferably neutral.
As for the slavs in general they’ll just go with the Germans or the Russians depending on who offers them the most in subsidies. At the moment that’s obviously the EU not the Russians.
Your right Ukraine people need a good leader like Michael Collins but don’t forget michael was shot by his own people.they will also need someone like Patrick pierce or Bobby sands

It’s the fact that the Ukrainians and their leadership seem to be more about following the line of de Valera than that of Collins which makes the British position so hypoctritical in it’s support of it.As for Collins he was actually shot by his own as part of the much bigger issue which has existed in Ireland ever since the civil war there between the pro anglo Irish treaty side and the dissident Republican one. There’s really only one solution in the case of a localised loyalist majority and that’s partition.
However the difference in Ukraine is that NATO is stirring things up,by offering the slavic groups, that would ‘usually’,historically,be expected to want to be allied to Russia not the west, bribes in the form of EU subsidies to move NATO’s borders ever closer to Russia’s turf.Hence the UK’s hypocricy in supporting Russia and Serbia against Austria in 1914 and the anglo Irish treaty which Collins ( rightly ) signed up to,as opposed to now supporting the Ukranian nationalists against the loyalist Russian community on Russia’s turf.Britain is changing it’s tune to suit itself with potentially catastrophic consequences in this case just as in 1914.

If you achieve that via the ballot box there’ll be no complaints.
The loyalist majority in the North will never vote to join the republic which is why Michael Collins negotiated the partition of Ireland and there has never been a referendum because there’d be no point.
The question is why is the British government taking a totally opposite view in the case of the dispute between Russia and ‘Ukraine’ considering that Ukraine was part of the old SovIet Union albeit with a few pro ■■■■ supporters amongst it’s population.

Your right it used to be like that but there is more republicans than loyalist now and Scotland is getting to vole at the end of this year so northern ireland could get to vole soon as well
Ukraine may have a few ■■■■ supporters but Ukraine people don’t want to be part of Russia

The question of Northern Ireland might be different now but I’d be ( very ) surprised if it’s changed to the point where it would wish to join the Republic. However the case of Crimea and Eastern Ukraine is beyond doubt in being more or less where the the Anglo/Irish question was before the signing of the anglo/irish treaty in 1921.It’s just that ( luckily for all concerned ) it hasn’t reached the stage of an all out shooting war between Russia and Ukraine as in the case of the UK and Ireland at that time.
The idea of Britain wanting to get involved in such a dispute on the side of the Ukrainian nationalists is not only blatant hypocricy but it’s also dangerous for all concerned by raising expectations amongst the Ukrainian nationalist community while just making Russia more alienated and annoyed.
At best the situation needs to be dealt with by seeing it from Russia’s point of view on a partition basis at the very least and assuming that Ukraine does then get it’s independence it will need to remain outside the influence of NATO and the EU by being neutral just like the Irish Republic. You’ll probably see from that my obvious links in having a Northern Irish Catholic Michael Collins supporting background.Unfortunately and ironically that didn’t help my great uncle who was shot by the Brits having found himself and his family living on the wrong side of the border that he’d helped to bring about. With the result that the family then left for America.Except for my grandmother who came here which is why I’m mostly British not Irish.
The thing that needs to be remembered is that it’s all about trying to keep the peace and in this case we’re dealing with a situation that could turn very bad very quickly involving the end of life as we know it at least in most of the Northern Hemisphere.

As in the case of Ukraine I don’t think that the intention of agreeing a border is for the nationalist side to stay on the loyalist side of it.I think that was also Collins’ intentions in the case of the partition of Ireland. It’s obvious in that case that the idea of the nationalist community staying on the ‘wrong’ side of the border is the main obstacle to peace from that point on.From what I heard from my grandmother that was my great uncle’s intention in moving to the ‘right’ side of the border.Unfortunately the Brits didn’t give them the time to move.Although saying that,at that time,it would just have been a case of trading one problem in the North with the Brits for another with the civil war between De Valera and Collins’ forces in the South.
Therefore what chance has Ukraine got considering all the different factions and weapons in the region. Yet more reason to keep out of it and at least let Russia sort out it’s part.
Earlier Carryfast mentioned the dissolution of the USSR and its satellites as the worst thing that could’ve happened for both them and us and I agree
For us it has led to an influx of cheap Labour and the loss of industries that have moved east, for them they have swapped dictators like Ceaucescu for the Biederfeld Group

The really scary thing is that there are ( a lot of ) comments I’m hearing from the states ( and some from here ) saying that they are actually up for a shooting war with Russia over NATO and the EU keeping hold of those ex soviet and eastern bloc states that the EU and NATO has moved into. With the Ukraine being seen as another one of those states. They are also under the potentially catastrophic illusion that Russia is too weak to want to do anything about it.
I can’t see why Britain should be getting involved. No one seems bothered the new Ukraine leader is unelected.
Leave it to Adolf Merkel and the rest of the EU gravy train.

I think they should help the Ukrainian people because if no one helps them they don’t have a chance and the sas are not doing anything anyway and they would be helping someone for one’s

Ironically that’s similar to much of the logic that got us involved in WW1 on the side of Serbia and Russia.
IE as soon as the Russians discover that British forces are potentially going to be committed I think you can guess the rest.
The fact is British involvement in Crimea goes against it’s ( correct ) ongoing policy in the case of Northern Ireland.
While NATO and EU expansion into eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union goes against everything that the western powers’ leaders had previously ( correctly ) decided in terms of where NATO’s borders and remit ends and where Russia’s starts.
