The CRETINS don't get it

war1974:
you wont if you have hgv you will keep it irrespective of the dcpc and last time i checked greece and the squaddies were part of the EU so they will need a dcpc card to drive in the UK!

You got it wrong. It’s EU qualification, so they will need it to drive in EU.

If it was UK qualification, they would not need it to drive in UK - just as UK drivers dont’ needed Polish one to drive in Poland till now. Driver is obliged to have all qualifications from his country to drive in other countries.

It will be interesting to see what happens with them but lets not forget that VOSA are already quite happy to clamp down on uk drivers/trucks while turning a blind eye, it’s too difficult to get a result don’t ya know, to foreign motors.

Well that’s absolute rubbish. Pop down to your local checkpoint and wait for a British truck to be pulled. Better take plenty of sandwiches, it’ll be a very long wait.

When I watched that traffic cops programme on BBC and they had a mental Polish driver waving a potato peeler about he was one of many foreign drivers that had stopped on the hard-shoulder for a break. I wondered at the time if it was a symptom of over zealous treatment/persecution of foreign drivers by VOSA.

It is the only chance they get to make the vodka

That’s true. MY friends who drive Polish trucks into UK say that they are stopped every couple of months. And they drive here only part of their journey. I worked as a truck driver allover British Isles for nearly a year (I don’t count the time when I was on local runs or on Hebrides - for obvious reasons, there is not much VOSA on South Uist, you know :stuck_out_tongue:) and I was NEVER stopped by VOSA or even the police… Propably because I drove UK plated trucks.

Same with vans. I know some Polish people who run vans to Poland. They use polish reg and british reg vans. They say if they run overloaded, they always use British van, as its very unlikely to be stopped, both in UK and in Germany for example.

I just clicked in the link in your signature. Poland has gone from not featuring on my radar to being a place I MUST visit, and SOON!
