Should Elite be on the list■■?
.
.
If only we knew which of the 138 listed Elites.
.
.
I guessed he meant Elite Transport, but they’re now part of Deben
no they are not, Elite Transport went into administration earlier this year and closed down
Deben simply bought some of their equipment, and moved in to their manchester office to open a depot there
I thought Elite did that 10p in the £ bullcrap to stop the liquidation and then sold out to Deben?
I could be (and usually am) wrong, but same motors and same drivers running around and even the Deben sticker on the Elite trucks is in the Elite livery with the little swirl wave type thing that is similar to Maritimes…

“And why are you still earning 2003 wages ■■?”

I,m with one of the “Big Boys” and earnt £889 last week, not bad for 5 days.
And the Army pension, well over £1000 a week
Just to add I,ve been with firms who paid £6 an hour, ■■■■ em, get with big boys, my company pays 5% of my earnings into a pension plan, I add 15%, I plan to retire when I,m 55.
My full Army pension starts when I,m 55, ■■■■ nights and 60 hour weeks, just want to chill.I love lamping with lurchers and some ferreting, love fishing etc. Four and a half years to go, fingers crossed the mortgage is paid and I can chill out !

Elite did do the CVA to try and avoid liquidation, but, even that didn’t save them, they went bust
Deben have bought some of their old equipment, and have taken over their old offices in Manchester

Robert (Muller) Wisemans have about 1500 vehicles in the fleet. I bet Warburtons have something similar as well, all mostly off the road by lunchtime.
Interested to know what P&H have these days as well, been seeing their wagons all over the show in the last year or so.

I am surprised to see TNT lying fourth in the BIG BOY rankings.
TNT has an interesting history.
The company started from very humble beginnings in the 1940s.
Ken Thomas set up his own transport business in Australia with
a single truck.
Business boomed in the 1950s. Ken’s company began offering road
and rail services across Australia and, for the first time, Ken offered a
new overnight service.
In the late fifties, the company became known as
Thomas Nationwide Transport or TNT for short.
.
The rest is history.
