Accident had place near Hanover 3 days ago, driver hurt badly…
Can’t have had his seatbelt on if he’s hurt badly.
We usually attend 2 roll-overs a month, drivers are very rarely hurt (other than a few bruises).
seen that photo before, although not as good quality

I had mine on and i’ve been off for 3 months!!!..that’s why we should never judge and generalise when we dont know the facts!!

Well bearing in mind it is a left hand drive vehicle, on a German autobahn, it looks like he has run off the right hand side of the road and landed on the DRIVER’S side. So it seems entirely feasible that he’s been badly hurt, with or without a seatbelt!

Hiya…well at least we crash test vehicles at MIRA on the A5…but volvo are been though crash testing on highways
John
So we can safely assume that if the drivers alive the new Volvo has passed its crash test??
I bet Volvo have been all over that making sure the cause is nothing to do with them.
Glad the drivers ok though.
When’s it supposed to be launched?,I can’t think of the company from northants who’ve got one on long test but surely it’s not too far off.
Ah, driver wearing seatbelt in Volvo, that explains it…couldn’t see round the wardrobe door mirrors and missed the approaching bank…
Obviously the truck is on a road test. It’s failed and there doesn’t look like another vehicle involved, maybe it is a problem to do with the new truck that volvo haven’t known about. Hence the ‘road test’. I bet the test driver is paid a fortune though just incase of this such event
That’s Hornigold haulage you’re thinking of Jase. Laser express have one too

Out of interest, what sort of injuries did you sustain with seatbelt on mate?
Not generalising with that statement, we do usually attend 2 roll-overs a month, and very rarely do the drivers have serious injuries. Not saying it doesn’t happen, just rare.

All the mechanical bits on that truck will have been tested to destruction on a track before they ever went anywhere near the public highways, and they probably did hundreds of thousands of K’s under an FH cab before they sent them out with the new cab, so I very much doubt that the cause was anything to do with something that Volvo didn’t know about
Part of the reason those trucks are out and about with all the disguise bits nailed on them are so that people take photos of them and print them in magazines/put them on the internet to generate interest in the new model, there’s no such thing as bad publicity, well except flopping one on its side on the Autobahn, but you can bet that the Volvo PR team are working the angles on that one too

Did they recovered from that PR disaster yet? As I haven’t noticed…
That’s the firm jay,I couldn’t quite think of them off the top of my head.
Didn’t know Laser had one too.
Looks a nice truck out on the road, just hope the interior looks as good too.
