I saw one of these parked up in a layby on the A5 last week, the one just south of Magna Park.

So we can safely assume that if the drivers alive the new Volvo has passed its crash test??
I bet Volvo have been all over that making sure the cause is nothing to do with them.
Glad the drivers ok though.
When’s it supposed to be launched?,I can’t think of the company from northants who’ve got one on long test but surely it’s not too far off.I may be one of the first who buys one
Please go away now, it is boring.

+2
While of course any accident is unwanted I imagine the information Volvo can get from this is invaluable
It’s a pity we can’t see if the drivers mirror still causes a blind spot
Probably one of those blankets tied around the cab blew up and covered the windscreen, wonder if VOSA would be happy if it was running over here, it didn’t have twenty straps holding the covers down!

You are not keeping your eye on the ball there immigrant & you really must be more consistent if wish to try and convince everyone that you only speak/write pigeon English, as from the above quote I could believe that you are in fact English.
As a driver of one of these prototypes i have it on very good authority,as in told personally by the man in charge of this project from Volvo in Sweden that the lorry was in no way at fault, the driver had just had a 45 minute break and was all legal, noise recordings, video footage from the truck, all data recordings and a full vehicle examination show no defects or failures, the vehicle was also examined by the german authorites and released, the driver is now recovering but suffered broken ribs and a head injury but has no recollection.
In the video footage the lorry is going along and just starts to head to the right, leaves the road and hits the bank which caused to rollover to the left.
Myself and the other field test drivers and technicians were all told this as a reassurance.
I hope this answers any doubts about the lorry.
Did they also tell you when it’s due out proper lorry??
Sam Millar:

Ah, driver wearing seatbelt in Volvo, that explains it…couldn’t see round the wardrobe door mirrors and missed the approaching bank…Go take a look at the TGX and come back and say that again.
Sorry I don’t get it :s, the mirrors on MAN’s are tiny.
jase:
Did they also tell you when it’s due out proper lorry??
no,they dont know, still in the development stages, but they are very secretive about it all,us field test drivers are on a need to know basis,we have all signed a secrecy document so i cannot reveal any details about the lorry.
sorry everyone.

I imagine as a test driver, he’s contracted to an NDA and won’t be able to give such information, that’s if he even knows himself.
What this new Volvo??
Where was that took akaday??
Is that a model or the real thing.
It’s a model of the leaked info so we will just have to wait and see if it’s correct I guess! I’ve compared it to the other pics of the test trucks that are covered up and it looks very close to the real thing.
