Thank you everybody As one door closes another one opens!

Well, here’s a quick update for you all after being served redundancy along with the whole workforce this autumn…

The last month was the worst , with all the stress & worry that goes along with it :frowning: I lost so much weight I would have to poke my tounge out when I walked over a grid  … just incase I slid down it between the spaces ( so I could climb back out again      ).

I did in fact drop to below 9 stone , despite eating well, & even my boss & work mates where getting concerned as my clothes started to look like two sizes to big for me  , I’m okay now although it was scarey at the time :open_mouth:

I struggled like ’ eck for a long time to get my head round doing a CV, & Many Thanks to everyone on this forum for their help and advice & tips on how to write this retched cv , for some reason I really struggled with it :frowning:   but eventually got it sorted, ‘PHEWWWWW ! !!!’ :frowning: I hoped it was going to be enough as I had left most of the usual stuff out, & using pointers from you good folk on here, managed to put together something quite different together :open_mouth: but it had immediate impact on those few people who first looked at it, when I just arrived through their doors , with immediate effect was on the way to doing assessment drives in trucks of excellence , & job offeres where put on the table :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
Pay was variable & although very important, rightly or wrongly , I chose to work where I though I would be happy to ‘go to work’ there, & that wasn’t the best paid either  , if that makes sense.

So at the moment all is ticking on & time will tell   , there was absolutely no way was I going on the ’ dole’ :smiling_imp:

Although I have had to say goodbye to some good people, & completely turn everything around in my life, not even unpacked !!! I have walked straight from out of redundancy into a full time company job (driving class 1), I m just soooooo happy rolling down that road every day
THANK YOU ALL for your support

Thanks gardun, I 'll try my hardest to make it work out, last year I was driving through Wales, England & Scotland , days , nights & tramping with various types of loads & trailers etc. I don’t know for sure where I will be going yet, I have been going anywhere they send me to start with. I should think various places as required through the uk as far as I am aware.
Have a great 2014 yourself    , are you driving wales still ?

See . Jobs are out there and its nice to see you took the job you think is best suited to you and not the money…
I did the same 4 months ago and loving it . Same route every night over a 5 week rota mixed nights so could be 3 on 2 off 4 on 3 off but always 2 off and never planned 5 on in a row which gives scope for ot …

Good luck with the job

Congratulations on the new job.

Stress can be very debilitating (big word alert) I went through it a few years ago when I lost a very good job, got another job within days but it wasn’t the right one & it took me a year to finally sort my head out & get the job I’m in now.

Couldn’t be happier now, keep to speed limits as much as possible, leave plenty of time to make timed deliveries & I don’t worry about getting finished before every one else- makes life Stress Free.

Good luck in the new job & have a Prosperous & Happy New Year. X

Nice one and continued good luck with the new job
