Nice thread…Good luck in your new venture bonnie lass.
Just goes to show, even when things don’t go too well - it can mean a fresh start - which may be the beginning of something better!!!
Well done in not giving up with your CV & such - although daunting at first, once you’ve done one it becomes a little easier and is another worthwhile achievement. It’s surprising how many people are not confident or comfortable in constructing a CV, some have never needed one in the past but nowadays it’s almost an automatic requirement whilst job hunting. Usually the one’s who’ve never needed one or aren’t comfortable writing one up have got lots of experience in the industry - it’s just a matter of getting it down on paper or screen whilst not forgetting to include any valuable/interesting experience they’ve had over the years.

See . Jobs are out there and its nice to see you took the job you think is best suited to you and not the money…
I did the same 4 months ago and loving it . Same route every night over a 5 week rota mixed nights so could be 3 on 2 off 4 on 3 off but always 2 off and never planned 5 on in a row which gives scope for ot …
Good luck with the job
Thanks nick, there are jobs out there its just nailing one down! , & for me I felt happier to work with a ’ friendlier’ company rather than a ‘too commercialized’ company where you are more deemed to be a ‘number’ than a person, it just so happened it was the lower paid job I decided to go for. I wanted a job that I was happy to go to everyday & not one where I would be dragging my heels reluctantly till I got there
The money is important though & I have a long way to travel to & from work, so I shall have to see how it goes, & I am thinking of ways to accommodate that aspect before it becomes a problem.
I will be doing days / nights as required , just so happy to have a job
Im really glad you are enjoying your job , and wish you all the best for 2014
Stress can be very debilitating (big word alert) I went through it a few years ago when I lost a very good job, got another job within days but it wasn’t the right one & it took me a year to finally sort my head out & get the job I’m in now.
Couldn’t be happier now, keep to speed limits as much as possible, leave plenty of time to make timed deliveries & I don’t worry about getting finished before every one else- makes life Stress Free.
Good luck in the new job & have a Prosperous & Happy New Year. X
Thanks martinviking, stress can be a huge problem depending on the individual and level of stress , I am really sorry to hear that you went through that yourself, & am glad you are all sorted now & in a job that you are making stress free & enjoying
Hey ! Was that you I heard on radio 2 early a couple of weeks or so before Christmas ?
Have a great 2014 yourself . X

Congrats Lass, worrying about work is one of the worst things in life. I’d rather be ill.
Thanks Silver serfer, worrying about work or particularly about loss of a job, really pushes the stress levels up, & with no light at the end of the tunnel , until you get that job offer in front of you.
Have a great 2014 yourself

Hope it all works out Bonnie Lass. You still working in this neck of the woods?
Thanks gardun, I 'll try my hardest to make it work out, last year I was driving through Wales, England & Scotland , days , nights & tramping with various types of loads & trailers etc. I don’t know for sure where I will be going yet, I have been going anywhere they send me to start with. I should think various places as required through the uk as far as I am aware.
Have a great 2014 yourself , are you driving wales still ?
I’m still here - probably always will be!!! Good luck with the new job.
