This Thai bus driver has no problem seeing where he is going, well not through lack of illumination anyway, actually seeing through the windscreen is a different matter !!!

Bill, thanks mate but no, i am an avid hater of all thing Facebook / Twitter etc. Such sites seem to rule the lives of so many users, i see so many people who are on them 24/7, glued to their phones.

Eddie,

LPG and CNG are both very popular here. They can be bought in numerous stations all over the country. The majority of trucks and most all the taxis use it, many private cars/pick-ups too.

yes Eddie this photo was taken at a CNG gas station most modern Thai trucks run on natural gas.
as you can see tanks behind the cab and more along the chassis.

The Thais seem to have made a workable job of converting diesels to gas. I wonder what the operators and drivers think of the results? Those Scanias that were converted to gas a decade or so ago were a disaster, by most accounts. If one of he world’s most respected firms can ■■■■ the job up, how can a country like Thailand get it right? There is more to the far east than meets the eye.

There was a brand new Thai spec FM (Euro 3, 12 litre with 9 speed manual) tractor running up and down the M6 last year for several weeks. It was testing after having been fitted with a gas conversion by Clean Air power at Leyland for Volvo. When all was OK it shipped to Bangkok as a demonstrator, and Clean Air Power now send the kits out to Thailand where they are fitted locally by the importer, and occasionally engineers from Leyland go out to Bangkok trouble shooting.

Top marks to the British engineers. Exporting clever stuff- who would have thought it of the Brits? Much of what was left of Leyland, after it collapsed, is still going great guns- apart from the Paccar-owned bit assembling DAFs, there is LTC, which is a top notch test house, and that lot who have developed the Leyland CVT from the 1980s.
