Because Scanias are overatted (IMO) and Ivecos are cheap and terrible. I had an Iveco issued to me so I left the company for a £50 a week paycut purely so I could get back in a better wagon.

Me personally I don’t like either,I had an older man the TGA xxl and after two years it had rattled itself to death bits dropped off etc and I really do look after stuff but that thing was made of the cheapest plastic going, the steering wheel is ridiculous too,it’s way too big.
Sat in a 64 plate TGX the other week and they don’t seem to have improved much, still a big silly steering wheel and the awful auto box.
I’d take the merc but as the best of two evils in my view…

What’s the best motor currently on the market for tramper?

What ever piece of crap the boss throws you the keys for

The reason the steering wheel is so big is 'cos it’s the only thing MAN found in ERF’s store room that was fit to use so they are trying to get just a little bit of value out of the deal!
