Tesco job

obviously depends on personal circimstances but would you take this job:

42.5 hrs per week
£9.65 ph, +25% for weekends and between 10pm and 8am and overtime, bank holidays +50%
bonus of £200 per month if achieve targets on driving style etc
pension
life assurance
10% discount card
share schemes

One downside is the contract is based on working every weekend,
(obviously you could take a holiday on any weekend).

if you achieve bonus and do standard hours, works out to nearly £34k

Its working for Tesco though.

wheres your self respect…theres no fun in being the head of the queue in your self made rolling roadblock, unless your a complete jobsworth.tut tut tut.though you will have lots of “colleagues” and when you have a harsh brake too many, you can go in for a “debrief” with your spazzy transport manager, and you can explain why you had to brake hard etc…the transport manager in Belfast, called out the tyre fitters because a driver defected a unit for the 5th wheel being faulty, says it all??..the shame of uk trucking, along with a few others… :unamused:

Dunno, I always thought it was a cushy job. Some on here say otherwise.

When I stacked shelves for Tesco I got time & a half on a Sunday, having previously been double time. So I see they are continuing to erode T&C’s in that regard.

Working Saturday & Sunday should reap better financial rewards than whats being offered here, in my opinion. Otherwise it’s a decent package if you prefer days off in the week.

How?

2 shifts at weekend rate (17hrs) : £201.78
3 shifts at weekday rate (25.5hrs) : £246.07
Total: £447.85 a week x 52 weeks = £23,288 + £2,400 bonuses = £25,688

And thats working every single Saturday & Sunday.

Have I gone wrong somewhere with my maths, because we are miles apart.

Won’t get that at Livingston, Down here in the south yes.

Compared to the downright scumbag agency’s with their wages schemes etc its very good. Don’t agree with the 49 mph but it should be a decent steady job. Personally unless the job is offering £100k+ them I’m happy staying in bed :grimacing:

you don’t have to do 49 mph you can go slower.

Nobody mentioned that it pays four weekly as opposed to weekly like most driving jobs.

Selby newcomer will be along to say how wonderful they are in a minute :unamused:

Also! Do I want to listen to some idiot tell me how to do my job? ■■■■ Tesco the useless ■■■■■■ I would love to see them fall big time the arrogant ■■■■■■■! lol

The rest was on his discount card.

A tyre fitter called out for a 5 th wheel problem.
Maybe the manager thought the 5th wheel had a puncture.
