Tesco Driver doing 38 mph on the M25

Macka Packa:

Koop:
Have i missed something here? If i have, when was this rule changed?

I thought the MINIMUM speed on a M/way is 50!

As if …that,ll be nice on a snowy icy day :unamused:

Stupid thing to say isn’t it? We all know that M/ways come to a complete standstill if the weather is adverse!!

I think in this situation one would be allowed to drive with “care” :unamused:

21:30 at night and the guy wasnt thrashing his truck to do 56 like most other people .

I dont see the problem I presume the rest of the lanes were clear and anyone not going in the services could have got past no problem, maybe he was trying to get his M.P.G. to a respectable level?.

If he was doing it in rush hour then he would probably be the fastest truck on that stretch.

Or if its windy, :unamused:
going up hill with a heavy load, :unamused:
vintage cars, :unamused:
Mobile cranes, :unamused:
extra wide loads, :unamused:
or just chilling because youve got loads of time to kill
and against most peoples views,
the motorway isnt a race track, : :unamused:

If i,m going too slow youve got 2 other lanes to over take :smiling_imp:

That’s me ■■■■■ then, i was doing 35 up hills this afternoon
Was full of recycled paper so i think it’s all a load of rubbish

Did see someone from MSC (Mediteranium Shipping Company) on the A12 last week doing about 35, there was a tail back and i was swearing at arsewhole tractor drivers again :unamused:

Macka Packa:

Just one (sometimes 2 but rarely) if your in a truck

Although there is no minimum speed limit on the motorway isn’t there a requirement that a vehicle needs to be capable of a certain speed? I’m sure the highway code used to make reference to 25 mph.

:sunglasses: EDITED FOR CONFIDENTIALITY REASONS:evil:

That Tesco fella, propably had a problem with him wagon, what can you say give him the benefit of the doubt and exercise restraint and experience in such circumstances, I’m sure your not a novice eh , your better than that

Shrek:
Hey, if the guy wants to thrash the arse off his truck, who are we to argue with him? I think 38 is a very respectable speed for a shopping trolley!

especally if he has one with wonky wheels.

if he had a problem with him wagon, then surely hazards or pulling off AT the services might of been a good idea,I cant believe that he may of thought that a major problem with his motor could be solved by driving slowly

to all the others,Im not talking about going up hills ffs,I struggle when im fully freighted to go over 30 too, this WASNT on a hill and there would be a sign stating slow lorries if it was :unamused:
judging slow moving vehicles in the dark IMO in an unlit stretch of the M25 can sometimes be a bit trickier than in daytime, all it needs is a tired driver to mis-judge a wagon doing 38 and run in the back etc.
I think it was too slow, maybe Tesco should buy him some flashing beacons like on SLOW moving cranes or abnormal loads etc :unamused:

eccleshall driver:

chilistrucker:
gave him a toot as i passed, too show my disgust,

, but another supposed professional driver, .

you sure your both professional drivers?? tooting the horn at night and without anyneed isnt in the highway code i dont think :unamused:

bearing in mind it was 3PM, no offence comitted.

ok, i may give you the know need thing.
although, i thought you were allowed too use your horn, too make others aware that you are there■■?
could be wrong.

from the pnld

A horn should only be used when warning someone of danger, not to indicate your annoyance at a manner of driving.

:unamused: read it again, PNLD does not spell highway code

       I know,my point being whenever someone says something that happens in the REAL world some on here take great delight in proving them wrong with pieces of legislation and regulatory text to prove their point.
I was told to hold my steering wheel at 10-2 and when turning a corner feed the steering wheel through my hands like a learner driver…unfortunately soon after passing my CAR test I soon found my own way of driving much like 99% of the population(Bikemonkey poll ,not accuarate)until I did my HGV when I had to do it all over again, but then again soon after I found my own way.
you’re not supposed to flash your lights at other drivers either, but how many do it?
I meant what I said,it makes me laugh when the quotes at 20 paces start flooding out   im not having a pop at you Biggus or anyone else.
its the rich tapestry of people on this website that makes it what it is.

PNLD = Police National Legal Database…and it’s crap!

Horn means “I AM HERE” and not as a rebuke. Personally, I must rebuke at least 10 idiots per day by using the horn! I also use the “self abuser” hand gesture quite alot and I’ve been known to shout a bit too  BIG DEAL!

No-one’s perfect…so what?

bikemonkey:

i agree with you about the quotes, i’ve just got too much time on my hands lately, and as steve wright says, none taken

i’ll have to take what you say about it being crap because i’ve not really been through the site, it can’t be that bad though, it says the same as you just worded different

No-one’s perfect…so what?

i agree with you there as well, although blasting the horn and intimidating people has never really been my thing.
you must be the one who gets even more wound up when i just laugh or blow kisses back in response to the self abuser hand gesture.
are you sure you’re in the right job, all that getting wound up can’t be good for your health.

on the M25 too which i dont think is a built up area therefore you are legal to toot your horn night or day :stuck_out_tongue:

anybody lucky enough to get up to 38 mph on the m25 at 3 pm desrives a good pat on the back.
