ARE tesco going back to ‘in house’ drivers? Or is stobarts still staying ,strange as to why advertising there if Stobart continue to run the transport,

Pretty much the same job description also on offer at Hinckley. I’m tempted to apply, even though I am (mostly) happy where I am. Downside for me would be the any 5 from 7 rota with “various” start times - I have been Mon-Fri days ever since I started driving full time in 2006 and have no desire to go back to working weekends.

Remember reading in one of those Truckstop News papers the other day that the brand of Eddie Stobart might be disappearing soon as the people who use it now pay millions to be able to use the name and the logo/colour scheme etc.

Wonder if its related to that. It was an insane amount of money they were paying out to be able to call themselves Eddie Stobart.

yep advertising for Lichfield also. sounds a decent package if that type of work floats your boat.

Does anybody know the Tesco hourly rates??

They have been taking on reg here in NI over past couple of yrs but finding it hard to keep driver turnover down.
Combination of wages nothing grand and having to work so many weekends.

New starts having to sign contract stating:
“Aware that there are other Tesco drivers on different contracts and they may well be paid more”!!![emoji52][emoji848]

I don’t think they have an hourly rate - I believe they are salaried.

No tesco is salaried all are on hourly rate,

Wincanton lost the contract it is now maritime who have the contract.

In NI they are hourly and always have been,
Rates were up on drivers noticeboard for all to see!!!

Just was wondering what these new English contracts are paying compared to NI.
