Taylors Internationsl _ huthwaite

Let me get this right !! Your uncle works for this company and you are asking on here ■■ Does he not know his pay rate or the fleet he drives ■■

I smell summat wrong here !! Lol

I can only put it from an agency drivers point of view, and I’ve only done artic work for them.

TBH, they are well down my list, the tackles no where near the best or its best. Yes they have got some newer stuff, but very rare that you get that on day work. Had a couple of Mercs where it rained in through vairous doors and roofs. I am very supprised they don’t get pulled more often really.

The work is ok, but you get a start time of, say, 6am, you then spend the next 2 or so hours waiting for a truck listening to the other drivers moaning about the firm and what they expect you to do. If your only class 2 I would think it would be mainly on the pallet network work, so fairly easy stuff.

Think they pay around the £7.50-£8/hrs mark, and don’t think you get any extra after 8 hrs, but thats only going off what the moaning drivers say.

I wouldn’t say that I’d never work for them, but I would have to be very desperate. Luckily don’t work for the agency that supplys them anymore, so I don’t have to turn the work down now.

What do you expect? You’re agency.

£7.50 all way through when i worked their would never go back after being told your only 10 mins away pulled your card and you have more chance of plating ■■■■ than getting them to pay for your class 1. class 1 and class 2 run as two separate departments run by different managers once your a class 2 driver your going no further max hours crap attitude and thats the good points but a jobs a job in these times good luck

Thanks for the responses, sorry for the delay getting back to y’all. Its been a little hectic. There was a bit of delay sorting stuff out, however I’m starting tommorrow, out all week. Still no confirmation of what my actual wage is but if its £7ph or upwards Then I can settle for that, rather have a little less money coming in consistently then one week with 200, then the next week with 350, then the next with 100. makes it really hard to plan a budget that way!!
I’ll post tommorrow evening when I should have some more info.

Thankyou everyone tho.

You’ve agreed to work for them before they have confirmed what wages you will get■■? Oh Boy! How does that work then??

Well yeah i’m a little concerned about that, Should definetly find out wednesday, if not before tho. I need the work, (well ok I don’t im getting by on agency, but could really do with at least a few months of consistent wages).

Well, good luck mate, but I’d be willing to bet you will find that the wage is less than you’re expecting…Why would they not say if it was a reasonable wage? Night out money is also worth asking about too.

I’ve never worked for Taylor’s but I’ve worked with a fair few who have.

One of the drivers I knew at Trent’s, next door to Taylor’s Sutt in Ash yard, spits at the entrance every time he passes. There are/were 4 ex Taylor’s at Recresco in KiA who were kicked out to make way for the Polish invasion.

During my years on agency, just about every driver I spoke with mentioned them as one to avoid !

Do these companies realise that drivers actually talk to other drivers about things other than breasts, bums, xfactor & strictly?

Whether a driver finds a company a good place or a bad place is relative, if you’ve just stepped into Taylor’s from a nightmare then you might consider it a good place. If you’ve worked there 20yrs then I’d have to ask exactly what it is you’re comparing them too.

Personally, they’re not on my list of places I want to work, & I’m a professional job hopper fast running out of places to try !

To take a job, any job, & not discuss the £money & T&C’s beforehand . . . “WOW” ! Just 'ing “WOW” No wonder the industry holds it’s drivers in such low esteem.

Its also I favourfor/from my uncle so I’m reasonably sure the wage’l be ok.

£7.50 straight through on class 2.no breaks deducted…there is no polish invasion
lots of london…impossible to get sack

Typical quote :open_mouth: and agency drivers can’t have driven for thirty years, owned their own truck and fallen on hard times could they not? I suppose as an agency driver who might just be self employed be it sole trader, limited company or whatever has never experienced long distance European, tauts, tilts, flats, roping and sheeting, reefers, ADR, tankers, low loaders and long and wide loads then on top of that bullstein to do the DCPC, after having been accredited a national and international Cpc from OCR then I’ll stand corrected at your 27 years young, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: just remember " I’m alright jack, it was the best move I made! :open_mouth: " :unamused: your words pal, your words! :grimacing: :grimacing: and we wonder why this job is Donald DUCKED! :unamused: :bulb:  :exclamation:

It’s the only entry into my foe’s list, the only user that is blocked in order to enhance my Trucknet experience.

It works for Taylor’s & not being without contacts there, I know that few at Taylor’s can tolerate it also.

It’s on my foe’s list for various reasons & I understand that the mods have taken an interest in it in the past. You shouldn’t say these things if you don’t have definate proof but I suspect it has several sock puppets & somehow gets a kick out of being obnoxious.

Put it in your foe’s list, ignore it. It will hopefully crawl back under it’s rock.

would,nt touch taylors with a barge pole end of they got kicked off the stobart contract last week at tesco’s doncaster

can you smash a waggon? can you avoid vosa?

Not with that agency anymore, and you know its bad when my current agency refuse to deal with them!!!

I can’t put what I really want to on here about them as I have no proof, so will leave it at that.

To the OP, good luck. You may stand half a chance if your uncle is one of the blue eyed boy brigade. But to take a job without discussing the money :unamused: :unamused: you want your head testing. Glad I’ve branched away from mainstream trucks into nieche stuff

Fatboy, I didn’t say you didn’t know how to rope and sheet or anything. My point was that an agency driver isn’t going to get treated as well as an employed driver. That’s how it is at every company, isn’t it?

Chas, you seem unable to differentiate between reality and the internet. You need to calm down before you give yourself a thrombosis. Don’t take everything so seriously old boy. Hopefully someone will quote me so Chas can see this before he does himself a mischief.

I hope this helps.

Many company’s couldn’t be bothered what an agency driver can or can’t do! As long as the work gets done, he/ she is just a DRIVER! :open_mouth: :unamused: :grimacing:
