Dave the Renegade:
The UK Government send £11Billion annually in aid to India, when they own industry here and have much more in their own country. Our so called government need to look after British people instead of supporting India and subsidising China.

Blimey since when did Labour ever have a protectionist trade policy and immigration policy that ‘looked after British people’.That’s actually the type of Nationalist policy which Le Pen stands for and which Labour calls nazis. :unamused:

I’m guessing that many of those who share your views and who are directly affected are actually Labour supporters though and it’s ‘them’ who I’m referring to. :bulb:

It’s not even British let alone Welsh.
And while on that note should it not be the WELSH GOV picking up the scraps ?

Welsh Gov as you call it should get the money off the UK Gov. Redcar was kicked in the teeth as well as the plants in Wales.

It would be even funnier, but those two idiots and their cronies are creating havoc to the working class. And Carryfast I don’'t vote Labour or Nationalist which you seem to know a lot about.

The point is we won’t fix it unless we at least throw out the bunch we’ve got and put something in which wants to go for protectionism and an immigration policy which doesn’t export British jobs to third world or Communist countries and which doesn’t import labour thereby over supplying the labour market here.Or for that matter allow foreign competitors free access to our industry to wage economic warfare on us from within by shutting that industry down.

Tata has no interest in British Steel, they merely brought it to remove competitors. I suspect it’s being propped up by European grants in any case.

Don’t wasn’t to contradict you there, but I was carrying out of a local steel plant British Steel as it was then known. Hence, 4 years later, it was taken over by the Dutch, ( forgive my spelling here… Hoogevennes ) which by another industrial name became CORUS…
Jokingly known as ’ Coils Of Rusty Unwanted Steel
If the E U coul’nt support it’s own doorstep nation, what chance has the UK got.
The fat cats from the far east with kids in the gutter got in here…

The point being it wouldn’t be ‘unwanted’ ‘if’ we closed the borders to import of loads of cheap sub standard Chinese etc steel. The fact is the idea of free trade is just bs.When it’s a case of importing what a country can make for itself.

Or a few middle men trying to get rich on the differences in labour costs etc between a totalitarian slave labour Communist or corrupt third world regime v developed industrial western economy run on the Fordist Capitalist model.

Or allowing that degenerate foreign competition,to undermine our industrial base,by buying up our industries.Having firstly financially crippled them with their dumping of cheap product and then closing them down to make us totally dependent on their cheap sub standard zb made by their weak exploited workforces.

Carryfast. I’m a 1000 per cent with ya on that issue of ‘free trade’. If UK was a true EU…

If only…

Crude steel production capacity will be cut by 100 to 150 million tonnes, while coal production will be reduced by “a relatively large amount,” the State Council said in a statement released Sunday without elaborating on a time frame.

The steel production ■■■■■ could translate into the loss of jobs for up to 400,000 workers, estimated Li Xinchuang, head of China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute.

400,000 job losses in steel in China puts the 750 in Port Talbot in a different light.

If the Chinese can’t make money at these prices, the EU/UK has no chance.

No mention of the lime kilns on shap ?

The population ratio between China and the UK is huge
China has flooded the market with cheap poor steel so the 400,000 job losses is probably a drop in the ocean
Plus when Camoron and the cocaine kid chuck a few billion quid of OUR money to the Chinese for building a nuclear power station that should soften the blow for the poor Chinese
I bet they could use all the surplus steel they’ve amassed to help build it

China’s problem is lack of demand in its own domestic market because its economy is based on cheap labour and therefore the antithesis of the Fordist model. While then using that to try to put the developed western economies out of the frame by dumping the resulting over capacity on the global free market.Which then just has the same effect of infecting the global economy with the same anti Fordist downward spiral and eventual economic collapse.

IE these zb wit Cons have brought Communism into our own back yard, having had the nerve and hypocrisy to accuse western workers of being the Commy enemy within. :unamused:

When those workers were actually trying to defend the western economies by maintaining wage levels and the Fordist system. But which unfortunately can never work in an environment of so called ‘free trade’ which is basically just a scam in which we buy foreign stuff that we can make for ourselves.Based on the lowest common denominator of who is prepared to do the job for the least wages.Or in Germany’s case the fear of them kicking off again if things don’t go their way.

Thereby defeating the object by wiping out the demand for the product when it’s finished because unemployed or low paid workers in a service based economy can’t buy cheap imported products at any price. At least unless they borrow the money thereby creating debt to add to the unemployment bill,and/or in work benefits bill. :unamused:

Picture the scene a massive nuclear reactor and boiler made with Chinese ‘steel’ and Chinese engineering ‘know how’.With the possibility of it also being a time bomb controlled by the PLA anyway. :open_mouth:

think its chinese state money buying chinese steel for a french state company to construct to a french design .

yes all those renault drivers will feel comforted by this !

oops hang on :

" The project suffered a serious blow last week when French regulators delayed a decision on what to do about safety flaws in a similar reactor. But cancelling it would be a huge humiliation for British ministers, and could cause a cross-Channel diplomatic row.

Last October the government persuaded China to invest heavily in the plant, filling a funding shortfall, "

this whole sorry saga illustrates the bonkers thinking of EU and UK idiot failed entities .

£18billion would employ ALL ex steel workers in area to build a severn barrage . providing around 25% of englands power requirements and last an eternity with clean green tasty power .

but if these morons are so determined to build nuclear they need to develop the technology of the future , not the past .

Maybe that’s the secret which the PLA have actually built into it.IE the difference between an A bomb and an H bomb.Look on the bright side if that does a Chernobyl at least there’ll be less left to worry about.Either that or we suddenly wake up and realise that ze Germans have mistakenly turned our planet into an artificially made star.Good luck with trying to put that out with sand and concrete. :smiling_imp:
