Tarting up the wagon!

Well Iv been issued my first wagon at work, after cab hopping for almost 3 months.

Its a 480XL Volvo and is in much need of some TLC as the last driver was a scruffy sod that didn’t look after it :unamused: :imp:

Cracking wagon to be fair but it just needs ‘sprucing’ up.

Need some suggestions really. Don’t want to spend to much cash BUT I do want it a little more comfortable in there. I have my kettle fridge etc etc but I need to do something with the interior as it is extremely drab. One of the lads at work had he cab covered in flags, and to be fair it looked well, but im not too sure on the idea.

Was thinking of maybe getting a roll of fabric, or leather or something to ‘redo’ the back of the cab, to cover up the horrible Volvo beige! Is this something anyone has done, or has anyone got any suggestions?

Just need a few ideas to take a look at to make it little more like home in there, don’t do too many nights out, but as im on containers I do spend a lot of my time in the cab!

Opinions welcome!

Let the banter commence!

I wouldnt put anything in, that you cant take back out.
Why not get some fabric and make a screen curtain to hang on the back wall

I would agree, in honesty nothing is going in that cant be taken back out!

Ooo, ooo, I can do this entire thread:

“Bloody stupid, show me a builder who tarts up his tools, its a tool to do the job with nothing more!”

“Whats wrong with wanting your place of work to look nice, if he wants to have some pride in it why not?”

“I’d rather drive a ratty old thing and get paid more”

“Why waste your money on tacky bling, you must be getting paid too much!”

“Its people like you who Keep the wages down, doing the bosses job of keeping the motor tidy”

“STOOOOBBBAAAARRRTTTTSSSS!!! oh, wrong thread”

“Think of the children!”

“I bet thats exactly what yes doing, to want to bling up a lorry he is obviously of questionable ■■■■■■ preferances!”

“Dont worry, CSI Trucknet will be along soon to verify if having frilly curtains makes à trucker more likely to be a ■■■■■”

“Dixon has frilly curtains”

“Case closed then because he works for Stobarts!”

Full set of frilly curtains, made to measure floor mats, flags on the window and 2 arrows. Sorted! All joking aside though. CDC do fitted floor mats reasonably priced. 2 for the foot wells and one for the engine cover. It’s a start

Your not wrong though are you?!

Curtains over all the windows bud…closed even when you’re driving

You know it makes sense bud :unamused:

Wife says make it into a tart’s boudoir…cushions, faux fur crushed velvet blankets, decent pelmets, mood lighting etc etc, reckon you should be able to get it all from The Range for a fiver!

She even reckons you should get a Pirelli calender to show that you are a true trucker!!! :open_mouth:

Well done for getting it though, you sound like you are doing amazingly well! Big thumbs from me  Who got the flagship and how many 750’s did they get in the end?

I just like to see lorries that are clean.

Especially the chassis, run up ramps and the fifth wheel table. It’s not particularly hard to keep these parts clean and damage free but few drivers seem to bother.

I’m more impressed by a driver who is prepared to take real pride in the tool of his or her trade by simply being careful with it, than the one who just fills the cab with accessories and polishes the shiny bits.

Each to their own I suppose…

What about a LED Volvo logo for the headboard ? It makes it so homely
Ive got a Bovis Homes one above my sofa at home

Well iv already ordered the grill mounted insect-o-cutor, so my dash has oodles of space left for horns and other such tat!

The other day, I saw a bloke with a semi-naked Barbie on his dash, on her back and legs akimbo…

I once drove around for a month with a full size test dummy on the passenger seat we had found at Vauxhall in Luton , put a cap on him and a ■■■ hanging out his gob, I actually bonded with him, used to chat to him on the road and say goodnight to him at bedtime, then some b…d nicked him and stuck him in the MD’s office, whilst he was at lunch :open_mouth: is this off thread ?
