Evening guys I’m still looking for a photo of my dads old leyland constructor 6wheeler he had in Tarmac colors he was based at old Cliffe hill quarry the reg was XRR 989Y my dad never took any photos of her and she was wrote off in 1990 with my dad behind the wheel. The last couple of years before she was written off she had the sun visor air horn on the roof also had leyland mudflaps hanging off the front bumper and if I remember right had 2 spot lamps on the front bumper as well she looked a lot different from the others yet there is no picture of her I even have photos of her sister reg trucks
Cheers in advance joe
Here’s a better picture of one of Denis Salts’ tippers, a Leyland Clydesdale BRE476T just out of the garage after a repaint.
Here’s one of the latest Volvo’s, with a slightly modified livery, in readiness for the fortcoming Tarmac - Lafarge merger :>( !
very nice !!!

When you say ‘modified’ livery you mean; ‘painted white’.
Painted white without the ‘splattered egg’ on the side! Good luck to them.
Pete.

Also anounced today the name of the jv company will be wait fot it … “Lafarge-Tarmac” the logo being the Lafarge “L” and a portion of the Tarmac “T”…wont be long before its just the “L” …while the divested bits (Holme Hall Quarry, the 172 Topmix Plants etc…) Hope Construction Materials , named after the cement plant that was also aquired…

Why keep the ■■■■■■ lafarge name that has no history? Keep the Tarmac name as it has history
Hi seagoon, just read your post about your first lorry being A409 DTV,had a look through my pics and found this A410 DTV the driver was Ted Foley he was not very happy with it after coming off fodens, first S21,then S36,and finally a S80.
