Talented truckers?

We are doing a bit of research and are wondering if any of you have hidden talents. Perhaps your a pretty mean guitar player, or do a bit of stand up comedy in your local pubs/clubs. Perhaps your a dab hand at trick shots on the pool table or do a passable Elvis impersonation. are there any budding showbiz stars out there driving trucks?

If sleeping was an Olympic sport I’d win gold every zzzzzzzz oops time zzzzzzzz

You spying at us

With the amount of Clowns on the road Rikki the truck industry could start a circus or seven !
But seriously ,
If Most drivers had another real talent that could pay a decent wage you think They would still want to drive a truck ? But I stand to be corrected , we may find a few worthy amateurs !

The late Matt Monro was a lorry driver, also on the buses for a while, the best singer we ever produced he done well for himself.

I lead a swing/jazz band that gigs in local pubs and venues. We’ve all been playing years and mainly play for charity fundraising events now. There’s 4 of us: drums, lead guitar, bass guitar and I play keyboards. Between us we can play 13 different instruments.(Tickets available for our show 19th March Skegby, nr Junc 28 M1)!

But I don’t know if I qualify to join this thread as I’m rarely seen driving a truck!

Pete

But when fame came I bet he quit driving for a living !

any of you have hidden talents

most drivers i encounter on the road, seem to hide their driving talent very well :unamused:

I play bass and sing . :sunglasses:

I play guitar and sing a bit. I keep an electric guitar in the cab and am currently learning blues riffs while waiting to be tipped. Funny, now I’m on RDC work, I seem to have a lot of time to practice!

Any other guitarists out there look at ultimate guitar.com for practically all song chords, riffs etc.

I’m learning to juggle

I whitewater kayak nearly every weekend in the lakes. Bigger the water the better. Breaks me during the week when I get overtaken by cars with boats on the roof off for the day on the water.

I’m learning to juggle

Ive not bothered for a while now, but i got to the point of doing a few basic (but utterly spellbinding) tricks with four rice-filled beanbags. I might just treat myself to a quality set of 5 (much better to pay more, as they are weighed for more accurate, predictable throwing). If the throws reliable and predictable, the catch happens subliminally, then you get into a rhythm and realise it`s surprisingly cardiovascular!
nb. for 5balls, revert to 3ball cascade pattern.

I play drums
I play guitar

I have a cpc national
a cpc international

i speak French and Bulgarian

Various certificates as a computer wizzard
and a health and hygiene certificate

So all in all, i can give you music whilst taking orders in a burger van, and running a transport company…Oh i can drive all types of trucks up to class 1, including europe, asia, middle east, scandinavia, eastern bloc…been there done it got the t shirt…think thats enough for one lifetime.

My Mrs got me 3 set but they are big and zombie themed. One of them makes a noise so it knocks my concentration. Need to get a smaller set myself.

Puts the willies up folk when I’m driving along trying to juggle!

Notice a few guitar players. Does anyone play the piano?!? Or Piccolo?

I also carry a guitar with an Amplug and headphones. Only a cheapo mind the Fenders are locked up at home. I tend to use Songsterr for working stuff out.

Stratocaster

Telecaster

I’m brilliant at Fifa

I used to be a pretty mean drummer… now I’m just a mean git.
