Taking boots off in cab

Hi people. Just how many people take there shoes/boots off when getting into there cab

Me. Keeps the dust down

Just took mine off, waiting for paperwork & gonna have a sleep. [emoji42]

Yep. Top step for mine.

I drive in my slippers.

Depends. Im currently driving long distances and living in my cab so my shoes live on the top step and i drive in my socks.

When im driving concrete mixer/tippers etc then my lace up steel toe caps stay on in the cab.

i am the kind of guy that would spread excrement over your steps just to give you a reason for doing something about your boots after you trod in it.

i am never ceased to be amazed at the new breed of drivers, in another thread some thick bugger has just posted asking the question if the current relaxing of drivers hours applies to those who are not stuck trying to make a crossing to France etc ■■? just how the hell can the guy not work that one out himself is beyond me

now its a boot off type of driver to drive the truck.

to many namby pamby people in the driving game these days, before long there going to insist on having a shower fitted before they get in the cab and a cleaner to come around and hover daily before they start work

Perfect!

I also take my boots/shoes/trainers of before walking into my house. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Can’t be bothered with that. Drivers footwell gets brushed out every so often to keep it under control. The rest of the cab is clean though, gets a wipe most days when queuing at drops.

Feet in boots all day=sweat. Sweat=unhygienic. Unhygenic=odour/foot problems.

The above extrapolation is not from Professor Stephen Hawking. It is not a fabled algorithm from the stars.

Its [zb]ing obvious.

Gonads in boxers all day = sweat
Sweat = unhygienic
Unhygienic = smelly gonads

Conclusion = spend part of day without skids on lol

Only if you are susceptible to such problems. I where boots all day without problems.

the next thing you will hear from the boot off guys is that they also wear clean underwear on a Sunday

Ceiling test every night for me.
Throw skiddies at ceiling if they DON’T stick, good for another day. lol

The point is; If you don’t HAVE to wear them for hours on end, why would you? Unless some people are so bone idle that they cant be arsed undoing and having to re tie their laces.

Pretty much above. Tippers are more an item of plant than a showpiece (I know some people fanny about with them), so dust and dirt is the norm. I’m fortunate that my boss worries less than me about dusty cabs, and 9/10 he washes my wagon for me. :smiley:

I don’t have that problem. Clean socks every day, decent boots and a decent job.

Boots on, can’t drive in bare feet!

Tut tut you should know that you can’t be a real trucker unless you have clogs or slip ons lol

Oi !
Stop calling my Mum Bone Idle !
She works hard doing my laces up in the morning & undoing them at night (double knots too, so I can’t undo 'em & get in a Pickle trying to do them up)
