Aren’t Deutsche Post and Fed Ex already linked? One owns the other?

I thought it was Deutsche Post and DHL that were linked?? It was certainly a Deutsche Post van that delivered me a DHL package today!!

Look here.

deutsche post own securior omega and dhl and has since merged the two companies creating lots of redunancies in all areas …
they pay crap money and are only interested in making money , employment satisfaction is not a priority with them , the attitude seems to be , get some one else if they dont like it ,theres the door if you want to use it . they have effectivly ruined what was once a half decent job with dhl , now nobody gives a stuff and the main thing in the back of your head is when is it going to fold up around you … since the two firms have merged dhl has lost a massive amount of its customers and thus money coming in … no offence to any securicor employees but the general feedback from lost customers is they no longer want to do buisness now that securicor is involved…
the money in the pot so general rumour would have it is rather low …

deutsche post is a massive organisation that likes to merge its other brands with recent takeovers … if they have there way nearly every truck on the road delivering whatever will be painted yellow and have the dhl and deutshe post logo on them …
and its not a good thing either , trust me thats why i,m leaving …

A mate of mine works for securicor…but on the money transfer side of things…they are about to close a lot of depots on the south coast and re-route it from southampton…the london depots are also under threat…so the re-organising has already begun and hes worried in case hes made redundant
i worked for a wonderful company years ago where the drivers really meant something to the firm…until they were sold to the TDG and everything went downhill from there…shame really…
have a nice day

securicor… on the money transfer side of things…

I saw them advertising for drivers for the above job and I thought the money was shockingly poor for what was required i.e. the risks.

all deutsche post have done to us is give meagre pay rises and try to change the contracts which we all refused to sign … they at first were ready to turf us all out but then realised it would be company suicide as the job would grind to a halt as soon as we were turfed out , and recently tried to take the health care scheme off us which they have to pay for , claiming it was a benefit … eerrr no look at the old dhl contracts numptys its been tied in as a condition
arse holes they really are
then it was a case of were going to change this your now going to do that now … so when exactly do the trucks bring the air freight back then … when they can… eerrrr no that means dhl will have lots of empty planes flying around unless you change the worlds flight routes and timings …
 laughable lot

Paul I know what you’re saying but don’t blame the old SOE side of things.

As an ops manager on the front line at SOE we too had to deal with strange ideas that seemed to come from Frankfurt. They just could not understand that trunk times for UK domestic work did not fit in with flight times to say New York etc.

I left because I moved and wanted a fresh start but I could see that the pen pushers from Sutton, Orbital Park and Frankfurt were slowly grinding everyone down while they fought for position in the new company. Cost cutting was the name of the game not getting parcels delivered on time.

i did a lot of work for SOE andover. they didnt seem to understand that things go a lot slower when you are trying to negotiate a truck in and around dorset with 40 mph limits countywide. especially when you are in the new forest and some ponies decide to take a little walk along the road and then cross over as they like. i have seen it so often yet TMs dont get it

i,m not blameing the soe side of things chunky
the customers are
although some of the soe managers that have needled there way in have questionable ideas
questionable ideas from germany though i would say :unamused:
i,m out of it on wednesday

SOE went through some massive changes in the late 90’s. Some good some bad.

I was a hands on shop floor manager.ie I would not wear a suit because one min I could be dealing with customers the next driving a forklift or shunting trailers to get tham loaded. In fact anything to get the parcels out and delivered.

A whole new breed of managers started to appear - Armani suits and clipboards. Customer service started to go down the pan and we had to endure countless pointless meetings looking at statistics.

I dont know this person you’re talking about Paul - but I can imagine!

Everthing was changed to the DHL brand because they knew that had a good reputation (that they could ruin!) and D Post could only use the word Securicor for for an agreed time after thay bought the distribution side.

yeah soe seized to exist on dec 1st 04 … became dhl freight
i forgot to mention danzas and luthansa in the picture
world ■■■■■■■■■■ is coming

his reply was dont mention it nobody is supposed to know about it …
you better tell radio 5 and the express financial pages then quick before anyone else knows

jon

not that i know of jonboy , the only thing i have heard is the ema drivers could possibly do a run before the air freight has to be taken out…
if the rumour you have heard is true then dhl will look like a spaghetti western … loads of cowboys and dustballs blowing around
the current drivers there wouldnt do it …
its a bit of an impossibility too , to get on the ema site you need clearance by the caa and have criminal checks done etc etc and that can take up to 3 months … airside warehouse you see …
mind you it all depends on wheteher the drivers vote for the extended night shifts with the wtd if they dont then there will be no chance of any other runs …
