I would presume that most that frequent this website have work driving or an interest in trucking or even just contacts who drive.
We are all always giving out about the taliban taking all the jobs and driving rates down.
Why not do something about it, instead of ■■■■■■■■.
One idea that may help is:
Anyone that hears of a job coming up in their place, even if it is just a whisper,put it up here as soon as possible, with contact details and rough idea of hours, get our lads into those jobs.
Another is:
Anyone leaving a job, even if it is a crap one in their eyes, might prove to be a new start for someone else, do anything to stop the taliban. Put the details up here.
Has anyone else any POSITIVE ideas on how to fight the taliban.

I’ve never heard anyone suggest that the Taliban has anything to do with driving rates down in the UK, unless of course you’re suggesting that the Taliban are running all the driver agencies
I’m guessing that “Taliban” is being used as a synonym for “Driver Agencies”, seems fare enough
you are all acting a little naive, we all know that when a driver refers to the Taliban, he means the east europeans.
you know the ones, they go to work, to work.
that’s the reason most firms employ them. if it wasn’t for the jobsworth culture in the UK, then maybe British firms would employ more British drivers.
however, i will concede to the fact, that there are a number of unscrupulous companies out there that will always exploit migrant workers.
it isn’t the migrant workers fault that they end up being exploited, they get false promises, just like the rest of us.

In relation to rule 3, this is not a racist topic, it is an attempt to turn negative moans into positive action, it is in fact the opposite to racism. So let those who moan start standing up for themselves by posting any whisper about any job, no matter how bad, up here, and put some energy into this forum, not turn it into a grannies afternoon tea club.

Why employ Brits? when they moan and whinge about the job you understand what they are saying,far better to employ foreign,they can moan and whinge all day long in their own language about the job and you won’t know what they’re saying,you might even believe they are happy little people.And they’re cheap.

I dont know what an internet troll is, i am an out of work driver, sick of listening to negative crap about foreign drivers while i know there are people who comment on this forum, are aware of jobs coming up, yet dont tell anyone here and then chances are non uk drivers slip in the gap and grab the opportunity. I am trying to be positive. Myabe you should be too.
Just to prove it I posted details of 2 jobs i heard of this morning on this forum this morning.

I know that’s your opinion fella but isn’t it down to the “Uk” driver to get of their back sides and find these jobs?
I’ve been unemployed for four days and found a job that starts next week! that’s because i took the advice from here and knocked on doors

The comments on this thread don’t alter the fact that if immigration had not been allowed to get out of hand in the UK rates would not have fallen the way they have and there would be more jobs available for British workers.
As far as eastern European drivers are concerned, I used to believe that east European workers had a good work ethic but after working on firms that employ a lot of east European drivers I now believe that many (not all) of them are just idiots who are ruining the job.
Well Mickeyblue, I am irish, dont think i would get into EDL. Started driving rigids 20yrs ago, left and set up small retail business 8yrs ago. Had to close it last week, as i hadnt drawn a wage from it for 2 yrs. My staff of 3 got paid every week. i found out my irish cat c (Class 2) licence has lapsed, had to do and passed cpc again, doing driving test monday week. This topic was just a thought i had this morning, not an original one i might add, but it is just that sometimes no matter how good a worker you are and no matter how often you knock on doors you can get a bit negative. it is purely an attempt to get things positive again. Companies want 2 yrs current experience, my experience was 8yrs ago so treated like a newbie at 46yrs of age.
