Anyone else seen it? A homosexual guy looking to get on the bendies. I thought it was a refreshing change. We don’t have enough homosexuals driving trucks, or ethnic minorities or women either. Infact i think this Industry is ‘institutionallly racist, homophobic and sexist’ , it seems to prefer older , unskilled or non proffesional males. Sometimes i wonder, do employers do this on purpose. Also why are trucks not designed with disabled drivers in mind, its a fact there are quite a few disabled drivers in full time employment. There doesn’t seem to be any diversity in our job, i wonder why?

I could kind of understand someone being a tad biased if they where double manning with a homosexual, but for the majority of drivers your on your own all week.
Does it really matter if someone is black, yellow, white or deep purple to drive a truck. is it a priority that folk should be white little Englanders just to get through a driving test?
What difference does it make if someone bats the other way regardless of being male or female. I worked on an offshore oil rig with a bloke that was as bent as a £3 note, but one of the hardest grafters and funniest blokes i have ever worked with.
Honestly gents, some of you want to re-read what you have posted, then ask yourself why the haulage industry and the average driver is nothing more then a stereotyped out of date outcast in society.
Until the driver changes his attitude, we will never gain support for wage, working rights and a better welfare system.
Face facts folks, driving a wagon is not rocket fuel science, its not even difficult, any plum can do the job, even someone like muggings here that spent 14 years as a registered British seaman.

as i,ve posted earlier what does it matter ■■■■■■■■■ etc etc.Its the person inside that makes the difference i work with some right plums who struggle with the easiest task. on the blower twice a day wheres this how does this work■■? i,ve worked with gays have gay relatives but i do,nt judge them by this.I have 3 kids 2 in there 20s and an 8 yr old they all realise you are what you are!!.Do,nt judge lest you be judged your self.(i,m sure thats someones signature

I have a disability, I have an artificial limp, still able to pass the medical, but gave up tramping for driver training. Its not something I shout about.
My son is in his late twenties, masculine, has had a few long term girlfriends in the past. Couple of years ago he told me and the mrs he was gay. Took me a long time to get to grips with, and I still find it difficult. But, he’s the same son that I’ve loved and brought up. Well I hope you dont have children, and if you do I feel sorry for them, having a parent who only loves them on the condition they are ‘normal’ must be depressing for them.
It would appear, after all this discussion, that some are “Straight”; some are “Gay”; some are “not too sure”; some like to advertise their ■■■■■■■■■; some like to keep it to themselves; some are tolerant; some are not. In my personal opinion ,that is just indicative of the Human Condition. It does not apply solely to members of the HGV Profession. It applies to All.
Sitting here with a little time on my hands I have just re-read through the posts on this subject.

Well i’m still here - driving class 2 - passed class 1 last year maybe proper lorries soon… Had an interview did not tell them I was gay otherwise I may have just been tossed a side But I had to put down my partners name, They must have gathered I was a Fairy after seeing the rainbow flag in the car. 
Toilets - I hate going into them but of course we have to - Can I have a toilet in my truck 
But I can’t stand the men that hang around the wash basins or the guys that hang around the fruit machines looking for other men.
Guys - When other guys are looking for ■■■ in layby’s they normally (that word again) park next to the toilet as they don’t like to walk far !! or they park near the entrance to the woods, if your curtains are shut they should not bother you - but I know what you mean you are hoping to get off sleep and all you can hear is a noise in the trees or cars moving all night. REPORT it to the Police, if I heard it all night or even straight people dogging etc - I would report it, A layby is there for one reason and thats to rest. (Boring old ■■■■)

Gosh it’s 12:30 - good job i’m not at work in the morning - made redundant twice in three months - both times in Newcastle, Hopefully a class 1 job in Essex - Then a lovely commute back upto Newcastle at the weekends
I have worked in many places, bullied most of my life, School, Royal Mail, and Jewsons - But I won’t let these people get me down.
Most guys are fantastic and know I can do the job and when I ask for help it’s because I have never done it before and feel a bit of a lemon.

Well in answer to Gaytrucker’s post, he isn’t the only one, a good friend who has worked in Europe for the last 20 years drives a fridge and is one of the funniest men I have ever met. He openly admits his ■■■■■■■■■, he tells us tales of the fun he has with homophobes and the look on someone’s face when he announces he doesn’t do women while he is in the shower block.
Anyone who has been on the train in the last 10 years will have met him, he doesn’t wear pink slippers & gold lamé. He can do one hitters to Spain and back, he doesn’t announce his company or his preferences.
I know a very openly gay bloke who is saving up for the “change” from He to She, He wants to work with blokes to earn money, he doesn’t care which door he uses to ■■■■ through, or whether he sits or stands.
