Switching the phone off

I’m getting fed up with new regime in our transport office, ringing up to ask what’s the hold up onsite, can you do extra load etc etc: I’m thinking of turning the phone off whilst driving (we have handsfree) and just checking it a.couple of times a day. Is this a good idea or do you think I’m leaving myself open to “problems”?

Problems, leave it switched on. When they phone you answer with “I’ll ring you back at a safe and convenient place” and hang up. When you have found somewhere ring them back. The amount of time they and you will loose will soon make them think twice about ringing you.

I too think you should leave it on, but certainly off it goes break time.

We are not to answer any calls while driving even in hands free just to phone in when safe to stop it really is the best way

How many times are you going to complain about your job? Nearly every week you’re on here whinging about the management, drivers, site staff, customers or some other non existent problem.

I know a lot of drivers aren’t happy unless their moaning but FFS you’re taking the ■■■■.

Our drivers are instructed by senior management not to answer the phone (even though hands free is provided) if driving. At the very very worst answer with “I’ll phone back I’m driving Bye”

Just let it ring, stop when you can and return the call. if you’re at a DC and sitting around what’s the problem? You must be being paid? If you’re on a break/rest - turn it off.
