Swains

Well i couldn’t believe my eyes a 15 plate Daf CF is this a new direction for them ?

Maybe just trying another brand ,and it is a way of giving the usual marque a kick up the ■■■ and not to take them for granted

I also see McGawn Bros from Maybole have a brand new 15plate Actros. First time I’ve seen them with anything other than a Scania. First time I’ve seen them with anything new for that matter.

We have two at our place. They look like toys. Then again, the CF tractor unit always looked like a toy.

Spent best part of 2 years in a CF high roof and there not bad to live in the only issue is the climbing on the middle bit to get in the bunk but the height is good , bunk comfy locker space is ample

The new dafs are them super quiet jobbies for London that run on reduced power to keep the noise down at night . I’m sure the scanias came from a firm they brought out a cpl of years ago

May be the next step for swains is to pay a living wage

Didn’t one of there guys who works there and a member on here say they just got 20 of them.

The CF Silent …is only with the MX11 engine so far ,there is a button that changes the ECU software…ie limits torque ,engine speed ,gear changes are at lower speeds and there is loads of gearbox / engine encapsulation

Yes i like driving Scania’s out of the units i have drove, the DAF CF i just keep banging my head on the upper trim and you can not recline the seat much, but i have to say i have not driven the XF so can not comment on them, i think units are like cars each to their own make
