Not seen Swains running DAFs before?
They used to have a large fleet of them a few years ago. Before that it was Roadtrains , Marathons, Guys and Leylands. I don’t think I am mixing them up with Hasledens.
i an confirm they have 20 new cfs in total all running out of strood depot 10 of the scanias came up to our manchester yard.he is runnig a few at 56 and the other at 52 to see what fuel mileage he gets out of them.some of the guys who got them was bit ■■■■■■ off about losing the scanias but other are happy.personally i go for scania any day.ive got a 10plate had t nearly 2 yrs now and happy.only thing is that i was involved in a bad accident with it 3 weeks after i got it where a young lad came round a blind bend on wrong side of road hit another wagon then into my offside.had to stay in hotel and get rain back next afternoon after police interview.but work payed for everything and even took me down to the inquest.
I followed a swains on a country road. I have never witnessed such a terrible display of driving. He had no idea on how to drive on narrow roads. It’s one of the few times I wished I had a dash cam.

The new dafs are them super quiet jobbies for London that run on reduced power to keep the noise down at night . I’m sure the scanias came from a firm they brought out a cpl of years agothe scanias are Ex STOBRAT
They also did acquire some when they got the assets from hewetts wether they also came from stobart I don’t know
