I’m afraid you may want to get a damp cloth ready to wipe the egg away
You need to have a 15 minute break for the six hour rule, the regulations say that you should not work more than six hours without a break but don’t stipulate the length of the break, the shortest break you can have for the working time regulations is 15 minutes, the fact that no break length is stipulated for the six hour rule implies the shortest break that’s allowed will do and that’s 15 minutes.

Yep. Should have got brummy on his way as soon as he was loaded then the next and the next no need for all four to toss it off.
Yes, I’m sure if they left one at a time once they had finished chaining up they would have had three of them off before the guys at the other end went home and they would have probably waited if only the last one was late.
An as for Sully using the phone when driving. Yes H F but he still had to touch the handset naughty naughty
It’s legal if the phone is fixed in position since it’s not “hand held”.
well I watched it thinking whats happening, is it getting like eddie you know who, but no I think its quite watchable its just made so the general public can understand it like when sully or somebody had to stop for petrol in his 130 ton truck
, they have to overstate it, like they have got to do 167 km in 3 hours, whatever happened to miles
but overall its ok, at least 130 times better that eastenders or corrie crap, that’s just my opinion of course

No it isn’t… It makes no difference that the handset is fixed. He had to touch the phone to end the call. That’s one offence. The true and correct meaning of hands free is where you can make or receive a call without touching the phone. The reason on a DAF there are buttons fitted to the steering wheel.

And the Actros
The offence is using a “hand held” mobile phone, it’s not hand held if it is fixed to the dash board or in a cradle. Pushing the buttons isn’t the offence, it’s holding the phone in your hand that is.

I don’t think he is Seth. I think you are.
“Annex 2 WTR” ’ Mobile workers must not work more than 6 consecutive hours without taking a break. If your working hours total between 6 and 9 hours, working time should be interrupted by a break or breaks totalling AT LEAST 30 MINUTES.’

Could be a company thing as Co-op do this

That’s the bit to take note of, you need at least 30 minutes of breaks in total during the shift, but you don’t need to have all 30 mins after completing six hours work. You can take 15 mins to cover the six hour rule, then the rest of the required working time breaks later in the shift, like for example, when you need to take a driving break.

If your working time is between six and nine hours you should have a total of 30 minutes break during the shift, but you only need to have 15 minutes of that break before exceeding six hours working time.
Working time breaks can be taken in separate parts of at-least 15 minutes each.

I’ve watched for the first time today, the one where they moved the army warriors. I never knew drivers had to take a 45 min break every 6 hrs as stated by the voice over man. Learn every day n this job, even from the couch.
“They’ve only got an hour to do 30kms, it’s going to be tight!”Its 30 mins for every 6hrs you have worked but 45 mins for every 4 hrs 30mins driving pal,
Yes I am well aware of this, I was being facetious, as usual. I was merely pointing out the type of incorrect guff given out, as its on TV some will take it as gospel.
Billyhunt-thanks mate! I never knew facetious was spelt that way.(just googled it).
Amazing variety of knowledge made available from fellow truckers. Who says we are ’ an uneducated lot?’ .Lol!!
It’s no good getting our collective knickers in a twist over what is dramatised tv for the masses (I wonder if they’re having the same debate on nurse.net over the latest episode of Holby?).
An accurate and truthful depiction of our working days would be eye wateringly boring to watch (I know this 'cos I watch myself every day), therefore they spice it up a bit for tv. It was always gonna be a night out for the guys otherwise they’d have left their yard at 6am instead of 8am, they’d have set off as soon as individually loaded, and I imagine that seeing as they were tipping where they parked they would probably have unchained on the night before hitting the NAAFI.
It’s entertainment guys.
