It’s no good getting our collective knickers in a twist over what is dramatised tv for the masses (I wonder if they’re having the same debate on nurse.net over the latest episode of Holby?).
An accurate and truthful depiction of our working days would be eye wateringly boring to watch (I know this 'cos I watch myself every day), therefore they spice it up a bit for tv. It was always gonna be a night out for the guys otherwise they’d have left their yard at 6am instead of 8am, they’d have set off as soon as individually loaded, and I imagine that seeing as they were tipping where they parked they would probably have unchained on the night before hitting the NAAFI.
It’s entertainment guys.
I fully agree with all of this, bar the last line.
As an interesting side note to the word facetious, it has all the vowels in & in the correct order. Can you tell I don’t get out much?

Good point, well made.
As it’s Sunday morning and we’re talking bollox about the English language can anybody in class tell me who was famously quoted as saying “Able was I 'ere I saw Elba”? (Quite impressive as English wasn’t his first language). For a bonus point, what is it called when a sentence reads the same forwards and backwards?

Napoleon, and its a palindrome.
And yes i cheated.
I have been watching this and it aint too bad, you can tell that quite a bit of it is play acting up to the cameras but not nearly as bad as Stobbarts Trucks and Trailers. That is on another level, cutting edge stuff on that, ohhhh I have only got 10 mins until my delivery time and it’s about 14 mins to destination, this is cutting it close and we might not get tipped!! Come off it stobbarts, I doubt you will get turned away for 4 mins!! Christ, I was 3 and a half hours over my delivery time saturday night and still got tipped straight away!!! Whole weekend was buggered though by the planners!!! So I think almost all deliveries were late to some degree!!!
I watched it again last night and thought it was good again, kings lorrys dont seem to be very high powered by todays standards though,i bet those 500 fhs knew about it getting up the hills round buxton
Funny how the container boys cracked on without taking the p unlike the other week. Oh and when was the last time you saw any crane lift boxes from the bottom to load onto twist locks
It’s not only impossible as you couldn’t get it A. on the twist lock… But B. You couldn’t get the chain out after.
Another thing was missing H&S, working at height without a fall arrest system or fall mats in place, and the ladders not secured…
I know we all do it at some time but if they wanna be shown as top dogs in the game. Wonder if H&S will be advising them on the procedures they need to comply with.
Unbelievable that one of them went and spoke to the driver who was overtaking in the 3rd lane, he wouldn’t of had to go into the 3rd lane if he was crawling alongside his mate
Yes it was illegal but if your running together stay behind not in beside in the next lane, you have no intention of getting further ahead anyway

Road Rage if he was that worried he’d of posted it on you tube and got a bigger audience

It’s legal if the phone is fixed in position since it’s not “hand held”.
No it isn’t… It makes no difference that the handset is fixed. He had to touch the phone to end the call. That’s one offence. The true and correct meaning of hands free is where you can make or receive a call without touching the phone. The reason on a DAF there are buttons fitted to the steering wheel.
My brother in law is a police officer and its fine to touch the phone as long as it is secured somewhere. Thats why the police are allowed to use their radios when driving as it is attached to their shoulders. As long as they dont unclip it,its fine. Same with mobile phones
Stop knocking it chaps, it’s without a doubt the best spoof I’ve seen. Even better than Top Gun or Spinal Tap
Where they got the ■■■■ from who plays the Hiab driver is a mystery, but he certainly can act! As for the “Low-loader” drivers…
I just think it’s a bit a bit naughty basing it in Bristol. I’m surprised the real King’s Haulage haven’t tried to get it taken off, they must be well p’ed off being made to look complete muppets.
Ive just watched the one where they carried the containers to the army base (I know,im a bit behind!) and I imagine the H&S chiefs were having nervous palpitations while watching them load the containers on the trailer. No hard hats,no hi-viz,standing next to the trailer when the container was coming down, touching it while it was being lowered on the pins and then climbing on top with no hard hat or safety harness.
I’ve watch a few of the episodes but I’m trying to work something out, this company seems to do a lot of work for the MOD, from moving empty containers, delivering new vehicles and taking them to a military open day
My point is where are all these drivers of the army…
End of the day every year the services ■■■■■ and moan about budgets being cut back, yet in my view that paying an out side source a waste of money when you got your own drivers and equipment to use ?
Maybe someone up higher in the chain needs to go on a business course and learn about it instead of wasting effectively tax payers money…
