I am used to reading some [zb] on this forum but some of the sanctimonious, irreverent, comments about this tragic loss of a human life, no matter how ill conceived the lady’s plan, do bigger belief. The authors should hang their heads in shame.

Get over yourself man :unamused: . The only sympathies here lay with the trucker. Like others have already said, where were the rest of her family when this [zb] was going down? :bulb: The hard truth of the matter is that no-one is “entitled” to anything free gratis. If you want someone to provide a roof over your head for free then you get what you’re given and either like it or lump it. If that means a flea-ridden bedsit in the middle of some ghetto then so be it. Don’t like it? Tough! Feel free to find alternative accommodation out of your own pocket. She is (was) just another leech from the “I’m entitled to” brigade that expected to be handed everything on a plate and not pay a penny for any of it.

Personally I don’t see the problem with the so-called bedroom tax. Don’t like the terms/location? Go and do some work like the rest of us have to do (you know, those of us indirectly paying through our taxes for you to live by yourself in your cushy 3 bedroom semi) and then you’ll be able to afford a place of your own! :bulb: Until then, stfu whining and be thankful you’ve even got a roof over your head as many poor [zb]s haven’t. :bulb:

Well said rob K, I agree 100% and know plenty of other people feel the same way.

^^^ THIS! ^^^

Also as an aside RE:- the bedroom “tax”… ONLY those in “social housing” got extra bedrooms paid for, if you rented privately and applied for benefit (for whatever reason) you would ONLY get benefit for the bedrooms you NEED… why should they be different just because they live in a “social” house??

The driver was doing the right thing, if she wasn’t breathing! The first rule of First Aid is to preserve life, while we are often told not to move people who have had back/neck injurys the one rule that overides everything in first aid is to preserve life, keeping oxygen going to the brain is doing just that, the brain starts to die after 4 mins of no oxygen those chest compressions could have saved her life without them she was definatley going to die, but there is always a chance if you can keep the brain going.

She may have stopped breathing but I understood you only ‘pump the chest’ if there is no pulse.
In the heat of the moment that could have been very difficult to ascertain. However if she has me merely stopped breathing would it not have been a safer option to just give her mouth to mouth resuscitation ( given her injuries)? All we have from the Mirror article is,

“She didn’t say anything, I think she had gone.”

and not “she had no pulse”

However it is many years since I have been on a first-aid course and accepted practices may have changed since then.

I did my last first aid course less than 2 years ago(no doubt its changed again since then), and on that course I was told CPR can be done with chest compressions only as they now recomend that you DON’T do mouth to mouth, if there is blood or vomit in the area due to Hep C. Also CPR is done if there is no breathing as the brain CAN’T survive without oxygen the heart can be re-started with a defibrillator, it’s the brain you are trying to save when you’re doing CPR.

Oh we’ll that’s alright then, as the self proclaimed voice of the masses you must clearly be right :unamused:

To be fair, he’s not saying the vast majority of the country, he’s saying he knows plenty of people who agree. It’s totally different.

I agree with what rob wrote too.
