Yeah thanks love… I have no problem with somebody who wants to top themselves…but why involve anybody else? Get a load of pills and a bottle of whisky, down the lot & open a vein…you won’t feel a thing. Instead you walk in front of a guy who’s working for a living, and now has to deal with your mental situation.
I wouldn’t have to deal with anything, apart from switching my window wipers on.
Seriously though, it’s a subject that’s close to my heart and you must have to be in a seriously bad dead end place to kill yourself. It just ■■■■■■ me off that some involve others, that’s not on and not fair.

if this poor lady was thinking rationally I am sure that is what she would think also.
but anyone who is in the depths of depression that they wish to end their own life is not thinking rationally are they
my sympathies to the trucker who will live with this forever
but I hope she also rests in peace

Brutal as it sounds I concur with what you say.I,a few years ago, drove over the remains of a young woman on the m3 near Basingstoke who ran into us one morning as a result of post natal depression.I suffered badly for several years, every mashed rabbit, fox on the road just brought it all back.it seriously messes with the sweed on many levels.I only got to her after many other vehicles but the person who impacted must have suffered apocalyptical levels of trauma beyond imagining.
An indoor barbecue, car exhaust; anything other than dragging others into psychic meltdown.

Yes they are thinking rationally, that’s the thing. Sometimes near the end everything becomes much clearer and they know what needs to be done.
Rational enough to take time out and write a few suicide notes remember.
It’s a subject that has opened my mind up a lot and to understand fully you really have to be in “that” place to truly understand (not that I have).
But having said that I can appreciate there are some irrational spur of the moment suicides but most of them have been building up to it for a long time.
She obviously had financial issues, She loved her family. But would it have been too difficult for her family to sort out her finances rather than blame the Government?
I think she was very focused on what she was doing. She wrote notes, pre planned her every move, then stepped in front of a lorry. This was a political statement, not just a poor old women wanting to go away peacefully.
Lets hope the driver dosn’t have long term problems from this.
My 10 year old writes and spells better than that.
She blames the government. Yes they are using this bedroom tax to force people downsize. Her children had recently moved out, why weren’t they helping her. She only had tins of custard? Why didn’t her children realise she had issues and not help her? She hadn’t claimed her disability benefits. Why not? But i’m sure there is something she could have done to earn a living. The council offered her a move. Was it really to a house, 30 minutes from a bus stop? The council offered her £2000, but would take money for repairs from that. She and her family should have not damaged property that want theirs. She needed to lift carpets and strip wall paper? Sure her children could have helped.
I think there was mental issues way before the “tax” came along. But isn’t it so much easier to blame the government for everything.

My thoughts as well, anyone who thinks that is the way out is in a very dark place.
I am used to reading some ■■■■■ on this forum but some of the sanctimonious, irreverent, comments about this tragic loss of a human life, no matter how ill conceived the lady’s plan, do bigger belief. The authors should hang their heads in shame.
I would like to think that this woman’s story is on David Cameron’s conscience now, and for a very long time…
there are thousands of people in the same situation, living in oversized houses… But there aren’t enough right sized houses/flats for the councils to move them into…
(and at what cost to the taxpayer ?)
Another case of no thought or forward planning, government incompetence.

Absolutely agree, would be a different story if it was their mother…
Thought the moderators would have had a bit of sense & deleted the posts!
The news report in the link gets me meridian dr Solihull !! There are no bedroom tax probs in Solihull. I think you will find that it’s actually chelmsley wood Birmingham now that’s a diff story! On a serious note though horfic for all involved, I see more cases like this coming with this ever dipleating country.

No it’s in Solihull but right on the edge. Chelmsley Wood is also in Solihull.
My thoughts are with the driver
Some two years or so ago I was talking to a driver down the gym who had someone jump off a bridge in Nottingham right at the last moment so it was bumpety bump game over with nothing he could have done and it cracked him up despite his tough brick out house build and matching persona
From what I remember the firm were less than helpful despite being a blue chip outfit

i think you will find meriden drive is on a rough estate in birmingham called kingshurst
B37 postcode although it comes under north solihull for council tax purposes
if this bedroom tax isnt abolished there will be many more cases like this
david cameron should be charged with murder

No posts should be deleted, it is sad but why not pills or a gas oven, she has traumatised another driver just trying to earn money to keep a roof above his families head. You only pay “bedroom tax” if you are on benefits, why should a woman living alone have a three bedroomed council house or receive housing benefit for same?
