Hopefully a lesson to us all , im thinking not one that the driver will learn though
ouch.
don’t think a couple of paracetomol are gonna help him.
I’m not sure whats worse, the fact that happened or he is driving what looks like an old Steyr
Strapping a load is a must
A well boss moment
I once saw a container that had been on a flatbed trailer secured with rope. It was on the road in front of the AEC tractor unit, with the cab totally demolished and the driver dead. It was on A23 Purley Way at Fiveways junction in Croydon.
I have never forgotten that accident and always ensure my loads are against the headboard and secure.

I saw that as well, about '72 ish I think. I was running out of the Dimplex warehouse. I heard the bloke had not long been driving.

That’s the one, can’t remember exact year but I was living in Croydon at the time. Not a pretty sight.
I was strapping a load of mesh down the other day and one of the ‘old’ boys started having a go about how many straps i was using. He kept saying I was using too many. Can you use too many? If I’ve got them I’ll use them.

You can use too many straps a million times, but you only use not enough once
I dont know if there is such a thing as too many. Alot of times I have used up to 23 straps on a regular U.S load. Tell you one thing the inspectors wont complain to you.
Steel coils on the roll not in a well I think I’d have chained em on myself TBH with you, straps are’nt much use holding that kind of ■■■■ on IMHO.
Must be an old video I have’nt seen an Austrian Trotter in donkeys years thank ■■■■, pure paedos motor
Fly sheet
Person who would try to use straps on a coil load shouldnt be driving. Thats just nuts.

I rang a company the other week after one of there drivers left with 2 straps over a piling rig, granted the rig itself weighed around 4t & its powerpack around 3.5t but FFS what goes through these blokes heads The drivers excuse was the straps are rated for 5t WTF
watch one guy with what appeared to be rebar leave with a full load and 3 straps one at each end and one in the middle. He had too stop though after the first red light and fix his load. He thought the rebar would grip each other. But he was a new Canadian with lots of driving in pakistan.
All driving in Pakistan & India helps enormously in North America & Europe Brentanna
hehehehe. I cow tipped a moose last year up Ont 11 about 60 miles east of Longlac, the blind curve just past the bridge they were working on last Feb.
Anyway it was snowing, blowing not quite daylight, came over the hill just started into the curve 2 moose on the road, so downshift as fast as I can and use my brakes. Had a Polaris load, wouldnt even dream of using the jake. Almost got stopped. Just bumped him, he fell over got back up which was funny to watch on the snow and ice. Looked at me as if to say what the ■■■■. Ran off into the trees, and was gone. I drove a little bit to find a pull off, got out and didnt see any damage. Silly me I open the hood, couldnt get it to close, so I called the office to see if I could tarp strap it down and continue to the next place that would have a KW dealer. They had me turn arround and head back to Longlac to the KW shop there. On the way about 20 miles or so out of town I come across this truck in the middle of the road, with the side tank ripped right open, noone around but a trail of diesel down the road for about 5 miles. I got to Longlac found the OPP at the ■■■■■ shop, wanted to report the moose. They were there talking to two new Canadians it was their truck on the highway, they crossed the center while another truck was going by. He was trying to tell the officer that the other truck crossed the center. The diesel trail told another story.

I used to hate tubes and bright bar out of West Mids. Specially on my 4 wheeler with an aluminium headboard.
they are ok if you have the equipment to bind them together, problem is most companies dont supply it I actually bought my own, I have seen first had what a load of pipe can do going through the cab of a truck. I was sick at the thought about it for days and had nightmares. The guy wouldnt have even known what hit him. The real sad part he had his 8 yr old boy with him the boy somehow survived.
