Straight on, turn right, right again, right again,

I do not see an issue, why is it wrong to have side bars fitted on trailers or between the axles and drive wheels? …

London, is an easy place to drive if you are a real driver  , why not blame it on agency drivers … end of the day the road is for all users … Truck drivers need to ensure they check check and check again … I am baffled to northern drivers who cannot hack driving in London!! a road is a road … it borders pathetic when a person has to say they hate the south because it if full of southerns … The South who pay alot more tax helps to fund the north! FACTTTTTT.

its not about being a real driver as you call it… its more of what you get used to… i live in a small village and most of my driving work is farms ect , york moors/dales single lanes where you can go an hour without seeing another motorist at times. i drive to the conditions i am in, however being from Birmingham if i go there it takes a while for me to get used to the way of driving as everything is a little faster and more traffic about. tbh it prob makes me more aware of what is around me then someone who does it everyday.

Muckaway:
“40kg of hard plastic”? We’ve just taken the sideguards off our new 7.5t tipper and now it tares 100kg lighter.
Does anyone know if you can remove the rear underrun bar? If so we reckon we’ll get at least a 4.1t payload on it. We just get 4 on it now.

why don’t you take out the passenger seat, radio, drivers lunchbox and replace the drivers seat with a hard plastic chair, could save another 50kg

or you could just do what everybody else does and not try pushing the weight limit :grimacing:

We sell stuff by the ton though Denis, which is why we specced an alloy body slightly shallower than the standard off the shelf steel ones you normally see.
I suppose we could make up the tare weights like the muckshift boys do.

They are trying to educate cyclist, but like all forms of life you will get drivers/cyclist who don’t care… as for selling by weight, just get a bigger payload truck rather than being a skint flint …

As said I see no issues with the extra mirror or side bars … as by this article not exactly much to them huh… but simple choice is have them installed or be fined simple rules are there whether we like them or not they have to be obey.

Another of that blond idiot’s hair brained ideas. He also wants alarms in the cabs to warn drivers of something on the n/s. A loudspeaker on the outside with the message ‘[zb] off or die you idiot’ would be more useful.

Used to have an AM CB radio with the option of fitting an external speaker. Great at pedestrian crossings. :sunglasses:

pepsifarr:
This is sheer genius and has obviously has been thought through thoroughly. I see no problems with this idea what so ever. Oooh look there’s a one way street I need to turn off left on, I suppose It will be so much safer if I go down it the wrong way so I can change it to a right turn.

Nah, a u-turn is what you need to change a left turn into a right turn. :open_mouth:  It shouldn’t cause too many problems. Well thought through, this one. :smiling_imp:

I too have thought that cyclists should also use the pavements. This puts the 2 most vulnerable groups together which can only make sense.

It would also mean that cyclists would have to show the pedestrians some respect if they shared the same space.

If not why not make it compulsory for all cyclists to have a 6 foot pole with a flag on the top so that they can be seen from the cab

We do have bigger trucks but they are too big to fit where the little one goes.
No, the more simple choice to say ■■■■■■■■ to London.

!00% if they do not comply fine them seize bike, or shoot them!

GORDON 50:
This was on the BBC London news earlier, basically there will be approved routes to building sites etc to reduce the amount of left turns.
God knows how it will work, and surely there can’t be approved routes to every single delivery location in London.
Makes me wonder if it’s just London that has problems with cyclists getting crushed by trucks or does it happen in other cities, here or abroad, and how do they cope?

ffs I’ve just spent £400 to find my way to building sites in London ,now there going to give us approved routes :unamused: :unamused: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Someone needs to run over boris when he is on his bike

Someone needs to run over boris when he is on his bike

Was out in London for a weekend with my parents earlier this year and to be fAir to the guy at least he still rides a bike around London whilst making all these rules.

Saw him as we were waiting at a crossing. No media team or anything. Just a backpack on and biking along with the others. Kinda get the impression that he’s doing what he’s doing for the right reasons and based on things he sees when he’s out on his bike.

Should have shoved Triggers Broom through his spokes while he was riding along, then he’ll ban Clown Brooms from the Capital, saving us another delivery, using a great big nasty artic.

^^^^ but make sure it’s the front wheel

Luckily I haven’t driven an artic in London for years and slightly of thread a wee bit but one of the worst days I ever had was when I made a ■■■■ up with a wide load in Spain. Was passing Barcelona when somehow found myself off the motorway and heading into the city centre at rush hour in the morning, the number of numptys on scooters was frightening, bloody hundreds of the things coming at me from all directions, it made the cycle problem in our cities seem like a simple ride in the park. Never been so pleased in all my life when I eventually saw the directions for the airport and freedom, even more so when I got back on the motorway :frowning:
