its a sad world when a mans death is turned to a humourous event
its a sick country where things like this are alowed to happen
we need better imigration policies get tougher on those that are here(ie send them straight home ,they obviousley dont give a fig about our laws as they broke them getting here)
any more that arrive send straight back …unless
they can prove beyond doubt a need to be here
they can prove this was their first safe country
they are prepared to learn the language ,get a job and adapt to our customs and way of life(no not religion everyone is free to prctice their own)
human rights laws are abused in most asylum cases costing millions each year for no good cause
send them home
i agee with most of that, but if we forced all our own work shysters who have chosen to live the ‘lets breed like rabbits with as many different slappers as we can life-style’ at enourmos cost to us all.Make them pay there own way, they used to say that you only get out of life what you put in,not any-more,and make them responcible for the little runts.Im all for ‘positive’ imigration ie proffesional people but un-skilled moraless ones forget-it we got millions of them already.More people are leaving this country than ever be-fore and un-less theres a masive change in the politics of this country,i will be joining em who wants to spend there entire working life subsidising the under-classes ‘life-style’?,when you can actually go and live somewhere else an actually reap the benifets of your own labour? Ok so this thread was about a man who died trying to get here, but if he a the milions of others trying to,rebelled against there own countries regemes to try and change things, then surely that would be a better way to die than to get us fighting all there bloody wars, and our soliders dying for no thanks what-so-ever.
It all balances, This country has hundreds of thousands of “non-nationals”.
People seem to forget this, when the colonies broke up there was a huge influx of foreign people on brittish soil. In the 70s there was another influx of people into this country. It happens all the time.
I propose a completly different idea. Open the doors to the counrty, give everyone coming into the country a work permit and ALLOW them to work. At the moment, anyone coming in and claiming assilum is given a meal ticket and told to expect a place to live. I say let them work for it.
There is a huge proportion of people in this country who have been here all of their lives who cant be bothered to work, and instead will languish on the dole popping out kids. Why shouldnt someone coming into this country who wants to work be denied the chance. If they are given equal rights to work just like everyone else in the uk, you might find that not only does the economy pick up a little, the wages will get better.
Lets look at it this way, If an illegal immigrant working for 4 quid an hour on a building site is suddenly told that he is within his rights to earn the same as everyone else, it will balance everything out. For one thing it will prevent incompetant workers being employed simply because they will accept less (counts for driving too).
Dont pay them any benefits, just hand them a visa and tell them to get on with it. simple. Might stop them risking their lives (and our livelyhood) just to get a council house.
chrisy boy:
if ‘our friends’ the French implemented there own border controls as fastidous as our port authorities, then maybe another death could have been avoided.Instead of turning a blind eye and passing another buck:
You can’t blame the French, if we had signed up to theSchengen Agreement then the french would have power to stop them trying to enter the UK, but as the law stands, if these people do not want to claim asylum in France they should leave the Schengen countries, which they are trying to do by entering the UK and the French are powerless to stop them…UK are the ones who created this problem and are the only ones to be blamed
to quote the house of lords
[edit] Signatories of the Decision
The United Kingdom and Ireland are the only two EU members not to sign the Schengen Agreement; Ireland and the UK share a Common Travel Area with no border controls between the two. Ireland is thus unable to join the Schengen Agreement without dissolving this agreement with the UK - and therefore Northern Ireland. However the UK remains reluctant to surrender its own border controls and work permit system. Therefore United Kingdom and Ireland are signatories of the Council Decision (covering police co-operation) but not the Council Regulations (covering asylum, visas and border controls).
The reluctance of the UK government has been criticised by some such as the House of Lords for, seemingly paradoxically, hampering the fight against cross border crime. This is due to the inability of the UK to access common databases on suspects.[5]
The blood of this poor soul who died is on the hands of our politicians who have failed everyone with their feeble immigration policies. Shame on them.
so ok you know foriegn-policy better than me and most people, have to beg to differ though as regards ‘blood on the hands bit’,the guy made a choice albeit a bad one,as ive stated earlier in a nut-shell its ‘self-determination’ thats whats needed in the third world,if we along with our war-mongering ‘friends’ the yanks arm these people instead of throwing bread-rolls at em,then just may-be they can start to learn to fight there own battles,CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME i for one dont give a toss about people who stone young girls to death or Machette each other apart or sell there daughters into prositution at or be-fore pubity, thats there idea of civilization not ours so for the grace of god or accident of birth im eternially gratfull im born English

Going back a few years ago i was chatting over some dinner with a big guy called Stuart who used to drive (maybe still does) for Shirley tankers. He was telling me how he was not long out of a 2 year spell in the nick for being caught with illegals on board. Thats terrible i said, how can they do that to you? "Oh, i was getting £1500 a pop for each one he said!!
I would take that with a very large pinch of salt If the tanker is loaded then the immigrants would need to swim well
As shirleys tankers are normally single potters.
Empty tankers get pulled through the shed or X ray machine very frequently and if the assylum seekers were inside a steel tanker they would be easy to spot as they would glow in the dark.

He was working for Shirley tankers when i met him. He wasn’t working for them when he was involved in his lucrative immigration trade!!!
