don’t know if you fellas[and ladies] think the same but I reckon this storm has to be the worst yet,my old bottle went today when the wind hit my wagon at around 90mph,pushed me over the white line of the A419 onto the second lane,i grabbed whatever I could while steering with one hand cos I honestly thought I was going over on the drivers side, crapped the life out of me,be glad when these bxxxxy storms are over
Courtesy of Aylesbury Police, I drove past it,and it looked a ■■■■■■■ mess. I was getting buffeted around a bit but I wouldn’t have said it was bad enough to have him over there. Who knows maybe it was a rogue gust.
In Swansea today, myself and the bus rolled in at 3:30am yesterday and we’re pretty glad we got here a day early. Both taking a hammering in the venue loading area, thought the truck was going over at one point, just a non stop pummel for around 10-15 seconds, truck was resting over to one side pretty well!
Caught a couple of gusts on the bridge on the way over but nothing too serious, think we beat the storm by a few hours. Driving to Cardiff tonight though, think we’ll be taking it nice and steady!

quite a mess
My cab was getting blown about a fair bit coming down the m5 and then m4. I thought I would be fine with an empty low loader.
Was tipping along the Severn Beach coastline this morning that had the nipper valve twitching lol
Few stunt drivers out there today!
Matrix signs on 40 Mph
and nobody pays any attention to them!

when the wind hit my wagon at around 90mph,
Put the fuse back in and slow down mate
I was parked up in Newquay last night and with 52 pallets of glass on weighing in at over 22 tonne I was ■■■■■■■■ it in bed thinking I was going over more than once
Got to my drop at a cider farm near Truro and wind speeds were 80mph and it was constant with not a single second of respite. We had to stop tipping for just over 2 hours due to the risk of the truck going over. There was what looked like an artic tipper on its side up near the Jamaica Inn on the A30.
Id say it’s the worse ive known it since I have been driving.

yeah sorry, should have said the wind was around 90mph,didnt know you could do that anymore with fuses, thought they [authorities ]were wise to it
You must be all youngs on here anyone remember the Hurricane of 87 now that was windy. Never had any trouble at all today mind you I was driving a artic tanker and the wind broke me front number plate.
Well i’m still stuck in traffic around Lakeside…Gone over my 15 by an hour already…Look like it going to be another 1 or 2 hours over as yet…Just a quick one to those in the know…Will i still have too take a 9 off when i eventually park up…As my hours are already gone to pot going into tomorrow…
Take the nine. If possible, take an eleven - I know it don’t count, but it shows willing if yo get a tug. And don’t forget to take a printout to keep.

I remember it. Shame that bell end Michael Fish told us there was no such storm coming though I was 7 year old at the time but remember it all over the news and damage all over the shop.
It took me five and a quarter hours driving (plus my 45 break) to get 51 miles along the M4 from Barry to Llanelli due to the motorway being shut at Baglan.
I’m on 16 now…Going to be 17 by the looks of this Traffic…I need to be starting at half 4…Wich would’nt of been a problem if i got parked up by 7.30…But i was just thinking that as my hours are shot to pieces anyway…I’d start again at half 4 regardless. Not a problem to take the full 9 of though…They’ll just have to cover my job…

I was stuck around there about 2 weeks ago on a Friday. It’s was the roadworks that ■■■■■■ it up then though where im sure a driver told me they were resurfaceing 2 lanes over the Dartford crossing along with the roadworks on the A13 it was carnage. I ended up driving down to the 406 and up the M11 instead of waiting probably over an hour to get onto the 25 from Lakeside.
It was a bit worrying today, and that was only in a puddle jumper.
