Stopping Cats

Any tips how to stop cats ■■■■■■■■ on our garden? A saucer of antifreeze seems the best one, any other less extreme ones?

Muckaway , -there`s nothing clever about saucers of antifreeze to deter cats.
This liquid causes a very painful death .What if a child (yours even :unamused: ) were to sup the antifreeze.

Perhaps if you were to have constructive thoughts , then visit Homebase/B&Q , etc., and purchase some legitimate deterrent such as pepper dust/pellets . spread the dust/ pellets on lawns/flowerbeds , etc. Cats have very acute sense of smell , and avoid pepper .

I hope this advice is of help to you.

The only other way to stop cats from digging in your garden ,…is to take away the spade .

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

I’ve an air rifle you can borrow as long as I get it back if the ■■■■■■■■ come back into my garden

Another way to put them off, is spray some disinfectant around the area’s they go,and on top of fences etc.

TCP or Dettol.

This works but doesn’t smell very nice if you use too much.

I use it occasionally to stop a cat lying on my car at night, the cat lying on the car isn’t a problem but the muddy paw marks left behind are :frowning:

Anyone know if using pepper would have any effect on rabbits? Our buck gets to roam the back garden (which has the occasional walnut whip left on it) but it’s the front lawn that has the problem. My Dad used to use some copper pipe and balls of putty; He became an ace shot with the blow pipe, the noise of a direct hit on the pencil sharpener occasionally sounded like a Stuka going down.

Mega-Sonic Cat Repeller seems to have decent reviews.

Pepper dust is good but it doesn’t seem to be available any-more, years ago I was shaking pepper dust over the front lawn when the top came off and a whole carton of pepper dust spilled out near the pavement, for a fortnight animals crossed the road to avoid going near my garden

Did your Dad practice his aim on you , when you were a carpet crawler , eh Nathan :unamused:

air rifle, telescopic sights, aim for the chocolate starfish, job done

When I lived with my parents, if I recognised a neighbours cat ■■■■■■■■ on our garden, I’d get a trowel and launch the offending walnut whip into the owners garden.
I don’t get why cat owners find it acceptable that their moggy makes a mess of other people’s property.

Lion pooh is what you need.

Or tiger faeces. That will scare them off.Get some from the enclosure at Longleat. But wear a hi viz as not to get run over by a dosey family not looking where they are going.
