I passed my test in the September got a interview and assessment drive and started in the October, so don’t worry about having no experience I think they like it that way no bad habits then

Do you know of anyone getting lucky with tankers without 2 years exp ? and how do you get exp on tankers without a drive ?
No idea about the tanker side I’ve heard of them training you up if you want to move to tankers obviously depending on position been available

Applied for a night tramper job (good money) and got a call. It was a agency. Told them I thought the advert was by Stobarts - not a agency, and that I would rather go direct. So, I applied direct, got a email back saying “thank you for your application. Unfortunately we do not have any driver vacancies available, please do not hesitate to apply in the future”

Ash is right folks. You have to try a place for yourselves. My problems with Stobart’s were with the planners. They are not great at communication, and are pretty rude and childish to the drivers. And impossible to get hold of during the day.
I WAS told this before I went over there, but I was also told that the money was terrible, (which it wasn’t, it was average).
Each to their own. If the planners were half decent, I would still be there.

In hindsight, I would have stayed at Canute, but when people lie to you, and tell you ’ revised ’ versions of the truth, what can you do?
The lure of Stobart’s for me was, the depot being on my doorstep, Mon-Fri days, brand new/very new kit, and easy clean curtainside work.
The problem is that the planners have no idea what they are doing, which leaves you sat round for HOURS and HOURS.
