can the mods not sticky one of these each year so we don’t have loads of what do they pay threads and the same boring arguments/discussions?

How the hell do Stobarts get away with a £15 meal allowance tax free from the HMRC?This isn’t Stobart bashing or having a dig.
I have no idea.
£75 a week tax free for each driver to buy their lunch. That’s a lot of tax & NI dodged.
and alot of dinner

15 quid is about right for a tramper eating breakfast, lunch and tea a day in takeaways, Would it be “fair” to pay half your workforce less meal allowance just because they get to go home on a night? personally i prefer to cook in cab for about £40 a week and pocket the other £65 tax free.
The quoted figures are inaccurate tho. The “tax free” elements of your wage wont show on a p60 so shouldnt be stated as part of the hourly rates. my last wage was 1/3 tax free but what do i know, i
m just a bum on a seat earning less than a tesco shelf stacker as a stobart driver

Any drivers on here know what they are like to work for, pay and benefits. I would be looking in northwest for work. Any info would be great.
What i have been told from the few Stobart drivers i know is
As long as u hit your targets each day and u keep your lorry clean as yourself then there a ok outfit too work for if u can get in there
Apparently very hard to get in but i have noticed a few off there depots are currently looking

I don’t think,it’s hard too get a job with them ,it’s more a case they don’t take on much fulltime ,they’d rather point you in the direction of there agency ,logistics people ,and take you on that way ,in saying that rates on there site / indeed quoted of £10.50 - £20 p.h ,£6-900 p.w ,guaranteed hours ,start times too suit etc etc makes you wonder why you would go fulltime anyway .
As for they’ll not bother you if you hit targets ,the only target they seem bothered about is getting in enough p.o.a in too work 70/80 hrs p.w ,letters ,marks on files ,retraining if you still fail to hit that target
