Stobarts urban worrier

terriers:
everyone slags them off to high heaven and who knows some of them probably deserve it… same could be said for the respected firms you work for… could be someone out there saying it about you… but if you were laid off tomorrow touch wood your not and it was a choice between 56 quid a week dole or throwing on that green shirt and going green im pretty much sure you’d change your mind?

Would not bat an eye lid if there was a stobarts closer than Appleton I would work there, why wouldn’t you. Because of what we drive and the fleet manager’s cant be arsed attitude we get a new wagon every 12 years, I will assume they get good conditions and pay

Nobody bought or stole the new album of internet yet,saw an advert on telly yesterday

I think it was ridiculous to enter that carpark for the sake of 3 cages, I would of stopped on the road and got the lads to drag them round. I would guess 10 minutes max and on my way. Or is it a H&S thing that he can only tip at the back door.

Gonna be H&S. If mommy is doing the shopping with little Timmy and a cage rolls over his foot he could be crippled for life.

Lord only knows how drivers made deliveries in the 80s without H&S warriors looking out for our every move.

I don’t think I’d make it there - I hate the in-can phone making any kind of noise whatsoever whilst I’m on the road. :frowning:

Hmmm,Just watched our friendly “Urban Warrior” in action, when he got stuck in the car park in Bamford (Know it well, live close by and visit the dentist opp Tesco) surely to god he would have been given a risk assessment before leaving his depot, more to the point,Why didn’t he park outside on the road and have a look at the delivery point, surely the staff at Tesco would have told him that the car park is full of parents collecting thier kids-personally I would have given it ten mins, particular so that it was the start of the school day !!!

Your right, he should have parked outside having seen the carpark so full and consulted the shop staff.

However, i do sympathise with him a bit. Given that Tesco go to all the effort of risk assessing all the shops religiously, I find it crazy that they are even having deliveries scheduled for that time in the morning. Should be a 6/7am job. Also, given they will have been expecting the delivery surely safe/sensible procedure would have been to cone off the surrouding parking spaces in advance?

All part and parcel of inconvenience shop work though.

For those interested, here is a street view of the shop, there happens to be a wagon in at the time: maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Tesco+ … 37,0,6.66
