I’m with Denis. It’s pretty obvious they dramatise everything. They probably edit it heavily too, so anything sensible the driver does/says is taken out. The programme is tripe not the drivers.

Thing is, most of the public don’t know what it’s like so at least know they know about tachos & speed limiters which can only be a good thing.
We all know its rubbish, and it’s not aimed at us anyway, but if it makes a few of the car drivers out there aware of the room that trucks need and the rules we have to work with then maybe it might just be a good thing !
everyone slags them off to high heaven and who knows some of them probably deserve it… same could be said for the respected firms you work for… could be someone out there saying it about you… but if you were laid off tomorrow touch wood your not and it was a choice between 56 quid a week dole or throwing on that green shirt and going green im pretty much sure you’d change your mind?

Urban warrior the same bloke who hit the bollard in a tesco car park a couple off series ago after declaring how tight the car park was and how only the best drivers are sent to said tesco then plants his wheel and bumper in a bollard lol I learnt many years ago when you think your good things go wrong and ffs never declare how great a driver you are or how well you’ve done until you’ve left where you were the ammount off times I’ve patted myself on the back getting in a tight spot only to nearly knock a wall down on the way out,it’s tempting fate dont do it! Let people tell you your good smile say thanks and take extra care on the way out they’ll be watching dont blow your own trumpet to them especially on ■■■■■ camera lol I wonder how much they are told to say by the camera man etc its hard to believe they act like they do day in day out…■■
maybe the guys that make the stobart show should do a trucknet uk driver programme and follow some of the members of trucknet around and then show that? all this stobart hate thing is getting boring, just take it for what it is…

Some time ago there was a thread on here from a production company asking for drivers for a new tv show about the everyday trucker, I responded , then had a phone call & lengthy discussion on what I do etc , they got permission from boss for filming & then we heard no more from them … did anybody else see that thread ? Wasn’t long after est&t first series
I think it was ridiculous to enter that carpark for the sake of 3 cages, I would of stopped on the road and got the lads to drag them round. I would guess 10 minutes max and on my way. Or is it a H&S thing that he can only tip at the back door.

You have to go by the “risk assessment” sheet for the store or you risk a “great pile of steaming ####” if something untoward should happen if you try unloading any other way , UNLESS you get “permission” from traffic office to use COMMON SENSE due to the circumstances

Have you guys missed the point that its a tv company trying to make an exciting programme for the general public out of a fairly boring job ?
Here’s an idea, if you don’t like Stobarts don’t watch the programme !
Always makes me laugh Dennis, how noisy they are on here, then when your out and about they never say a word ,4 yrs and still waiting
I’ve often spoke to Stobbart drivers about the show and what they think about it and the likes of Mark Dixon or his wife(sorry mate) and the impression it gives to other drivers and the general public. I know 3 of our drivers went to Stobbarts and they say it aint all it cracked up to be,just like any other company as in you’re just a number, the office get it wrong from time to time and they do treat you like crap now and again just that it’s the biggest haulage company in the UK doing it.

So how come you can’t spell Stobart? By your own definition, it must be fairly common and easy to commit to memory.
Ive a feeling I know what a lot of you lads will be getting for crimbo, having just seen the ad at the finish of the football, id love to see your faces as you unwrap the cd
