Stobarts question

I don’t like the stobart business model very much. I like the idea of rewarding sensible driving though.

Surely the bonus is suited to drivers who spend a good deal of time on motorways (as I seem to)

However on biomass and the like I can imagine it’s a ■■■■ to get the bonus.

I’m fairly sure on the tipper job I’m going on to next week it wouldn’t be that easy

The driving standard bonus add it is called doesn’t get used for all the jobs. Ie walking floors need the engine running for p to. Chipliners need to brake hard to settle load or engine running to keep air up for axle weighers etc

Truckulent:
All that training, health and safety [zb], matching hiviz and bonuses.

And still they can’t drive. They don’t need fuel bonuses. They need telling you stay on the black bit. Green isn’t always the way to go, even for a Stobbies Nobby!

happysack:
[zb] off. I’ve never heard such [zb] in my life.

I’m sorry but i think Truckulent has a point.

And no one else crashes? I saw a wagon roll 3 weeks ago. I didn’t take photos to post online. I don’t feel the need to ridicule any other drivers misfortune.

Happysack gets £5 a day if he stands up to Stobart bashers on TruckNet.

No Contraflow I don’t. I just get ■■■■■■ of listening to the same pricks spout the same crap. I’m no big fan of stobarts and rarely mix with other drivers. … But I know many who have more experience than some of the keyboard warriors on here.

Fantastic.

Come on Happysack, crack a smile for once.

I smile. More than you can imagine.

Not surprised at Stobbies. Dodgems every day there by the look of the pics on this thread… and several others on the board!! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Ok let me just add this before this thread gets locked.

I have been a Class 1 driver for just over 36 years now.

As a regular night trunk driver i have to say that some of the driving by Stobart drivers leaves a lot to be desired if not down right appalling.

Some pull out in front of you without any indication what so ever, some are on the phone wandering from lane to lane and god forbid you should come along the side of one at a slip road and don’t pull over they go berserk flashing their lights when you have nowhere to go.

I could go on but my latest encounter takes the top prize.

The other night heading North on the M1 in the 16 mile section of road works between Junc 28 and 31 we have Mr Stobart in the middle lane refusing to move over and let any other HGV pass.

After about three miles myself and a number of other drivers in the queue behind me all went up the inside, much to Mr Stobarts disgust, as he was playing at policing the roadwork’s and keeping every one at exactly 50 mph!

And you wonder why they get so much stick on here.

The pathetic TV programme should show the real side of Eddie Stobart but unfortunately the general public will never see any such thing. :frowning:

Another question for stobarts drivers. How does the £5 fuel bonus work? Do you get £5 for a good MPG or is it broken down to specific items, eg harsh braking, over reving etc…

Also is it £5 a day??

Funnily enough I was just speaking to a Stobbies driver in the drivers waiting room in Amazon (Dunfermline) yesterday and he says it’s for what happysack said i.e. :-

happysack:
Is for cruise control, braking, green band and idle time. I think.

He said he never was one for cruise control but Stobbies have got them all ‘trained’ and now it’s just force of habit and he does it automatically.

Yep won’t have a car now without c/c on it,got mrs trained up as well now    ,don’t have too shout at her now,off the drive, down the road and c/c is straight on
Also got her switching off engine after 2 mins, soon as green arrow comes up on dash she now changes up,instead of reving the guts out of it.
All thanks to stobart driver trainer
Been trying to get our girl to practise f/e/d,but don’t take a ounce of notice of what I say, just boots it everywhere, kids :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: then she says dad can you fill car for me,hardly any fuel in it :exclamation: :exclamation: ,another £40 that could of stayed in my pocket,ah well that’s the joys of being a dad I guess

Dear Mr Moomooland, I agree that all of your points are signs of bad driving. Do you never notice that other companies have exactly the same idiots driving for them.
As for night trunkers, these are some of the worst drivers I have ever encountered.

I think this is the problem - Stobart has such a high profile that almost everybody likes to highlight/have a pop at their shortcomings/mishaps/f-ups etc.

Also statistically, since there are probably far more Stobart trucks on the road than any other single company, even if only 5% (1 in 20) of their drivers are accident prone that’s still a helluva lot of trucks taking a kicking!

Like you say happy, it’s not as if there aren’t any d-heads working for any other company. My first week back on the saddle and I’ve seen plenty already!! (Don’t even mention tippers!!)

Oh deary deary me.
Another Stobarts crash.
Almost a daily occurrence.
I’ve heard it all before.
Maybe it was a steering fault.
Maybee the drivers seat collapsed.
Or did the chassis collapse.
What could be the reason for all these crashes.
Or is it fatigue from overwork.

Ross v Eddie Stobart was a case lasting 4 years and was about how this haulage operator is as bent as Uri gellas t spoon.
Work time evasion.
A criminally offence.
Stobarts are the leaders in evasion.

Unfortunately crashes and fatalities are just a side effect of evasion.

Half of the industry is at it.
Just like thieves
Grabbing what they can before it changes (if)
Ive said this before.
Hgv drivers are muppets and dont have a clue.

Lets close stobart down on twitter.
Ross v stobart
Your gonna hate it.

Bye bye old school your days arr numbered.
Thank god.
Bring back safer roads

And the appeal was dismissed, twice!!!

Wheely nuty some drivers.
Ignorance is bliss no doubt.
Well there was a discussion on why Stobarts keep running of the road and sometimes killing themselves or others
Some cretins blame mechanical faults like steering defect or cruise control.
The answer is really simple.
The drivers are knackered
God bless.
Anything for a few extra quid.
How about shoplifting.
At least you won’t flatten someone.
Unless your obese.
