fair play to stobarts they’ve kept it running in which it would of colapsed years ago due to the lack of money and they have took over and done a good job of it it
Innovate only took Larkhall and Manton wood over from Corby 1.5years ago, it lasted a year before they went into admin and Stobarts came in, what are you on about saying it would’ve collapsed years ago without Stobarts, and how do you know Stobarts have done a good job with it anyway?
No buycrider that was not the naughty firman story i was thinking of it was the one where this (we do every thing correct company)employed firemen on part time work who were not content in having one job they wanted to be truck drivers, not content with that they run bent to earn even more money. The work force reported them to TC and they went to court I dont know what they got but it was not enough

very dissapointed in your last paragraph ricky, theres alot of larkhall , manton wood drivers loosing there jobs at the moment, who wrongly or rightly feel theyve been crapped on. maybe a bit more thought about what you post in future
If Stobarts hadn’t stepped in those drivers would have lost their jobs a long time ago. They should be upset at the muppets who ran Innovate into the ground and not the people at Stobarts who kept them in a job for an extra few months.
Paul
so doing leicester co-op[ 1 pallet], alferton co-op [1 pallet] then cleethorpes [ the one near grimsby] 1 pallet then collect 4 pallets is running it well , hundreds of miles to deliver 3 pallets , collect 4 .
i know every man and his dog loves having a pop at innovate[ at times including me] , but at this moment in time im struggling to see where all these millions are being saved, yes innovate may of ran it into the ground , but stobarts seem to be doing the same, maybee in time ill eat my words, i hope i do for peoples sakes but at the moment im struggling to see where the BIG differences are
hmm, scudamore road, alfreton, tp or tesco, then cleethorpes, are you sure you werent my planner at stobbarts,
no my planner would have given me a c/o at the co-op after i had tipped, so i had to rejoin the queue and the blue eyed boy could just drive, some guys dont do deliveries,
the best bit is we have a leicester multi who delivered there half hour before me[ banksman said your lots just been in ] , we have a alferton/area multi went in hour before me and a grimsby/hull multi who tipped a couple of miles from my tip at cleethorpes.none were full .
ah well when cullina take over maybe itll all be hunky dorry

huh what are you going on about
im on about stobarts and about william and andrew tinkler bought it off his brother eddie becuase the the brother eddie was not finacialy stable so thats why they bought it and i think they have done a good job?
this may though all be explained by the fact i was down as a spare driver, so when i booked in i was told get a coffeee as i was the cunning plan man TODAY, think that should of been BARMY PLAN MAN
Stobarts gave their drivers nice new trucks and collars and ties and 14 days holiday per annum when their similar competitors were giving 20. That only changed when the law of the country changed. Says it all for me.
I’ve just watched the program (via the web) and can’t honestly say it was the best PR I’ve seen especially given the current climate.
What on earth was the thinking? - "Look at me, I have too much cash and like to blow it on Cars & Ponies! " - ?
Tinkler is no fool given what he’s achieved but I personally think this was a disaster for the image of Stobart.
Mr Stobart on the other hand, came across well until we discovered he has to pay somebody £500 to kill a buzzer!
I work for Stobart, technically from Sunday 1/03/09, as thats when James irlam & Sons (my current employers) get incorporated fully into Stobart.
In the 12 months since Stobart have taken over, I’ve seen nothing but improvement imo, sure its not all for the better, that said, its a hell of alot more professional than the Irlam way of running…
New Scanias, new uniform and boots - same pay
Time will tell, the next few weeks should be eye opening, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the improvement will continue.
Stobarts are OK.
Maybe too big at the moment to keep all us drivers on max hours,
But then it’s better to do 12 hour shifts than 15 hours IMO.
Work is very easy as a night Tramper and never been asked to do a 10 hour drive in the time i’ve been at Stobart.
Planners will try to plan your daily rest periods but get told to ask first.
I’ve worked for alot worse in my time and they always pay on time every fortnight into bank.
