Stobarts, but not what you think!

No this is NOT another thread on what Stobarts are like to work for or what they pay.

Just wondering if anyone knows how long they take to get back to you after submitting an application.

They have loads of applicants so you’ll be lucky to hear from them. If you’re that keen keep making multiple applications to increase your chances of getting a response.

They were very good and very quick with me. I was offered three assessment days and unfortunately i couldnt attend any of them. Not heard from them since.

Must just be you then PimpDaddy, as usual though! Have you ever thought your attitude may be a massive barrier and warning sign to potential employers judging by some of the rubbish you come out with on here.

Back on topic however, they were relatively quick to get back to me on both occasions when I applied to them - firstly in 2011 when I was a newbie with no experience they had the decency to write a letter to me informing that I had been unsuccessful on that particular occasion. Second time in 2013 I got offered an interview and assessment which I took but I turned the job down when they told me what they were paying - well below the average for my area and with 2 years experience by this point I could afford to be picky.

Was it the work, hours or pay that made you decide to leave stobart?

All 3.I only lasted a week. Everyone was miserable as sin.A horrible environment to be in.Working for a local family firm now who are really decent.

We have queried the uniform ( shirt more than anything ) ,and there looking at that ,with a change for a polo shirt ,but due to the extra manufacturing costs we possibly would have to contribute 50% of the costs of them ,talking of £30 per shirt ,so £15 per employee, but maybe take it out wage ,£5 a week .
Trousers ,shoes ,jackets are fine in my opinion

Since when did an employee have to contribute to the cost of their own uniform? And £30 for a polo shirt? They’re having a laugh!

I know of one other company that takes £5 a week out of its staffs wages to cover the cost of uniforms. It shows in the deductions section of the payslip as consumables.

Mind you this company has nothing whatsoever to do with transport or logistics.

Am I missing something here? What’s the problem with the shirts Dozy?

I find them very uncomfortable ,a polo shirt is much more comfortable ,easier to look after etc .
Look at the ones transporter drivers have ,t/o staff at j27 ,that’s what we’re asking for
