Stobart Trucks & Trailers mega thread

Grasshopper:
The Harry Hill sketch was excellent i thought, very funny. Fair play to Mark Dixon for going on the show. Not quite sure what the driver in London was doing?! You would think he was driving a heavy haulage vehicle through the streets!
I did watch the first series but dont watch the programme anymore. Not because i have anything against Stobarts, just dont watch it.

A lot of that was clearly down to editing.

During his reverse after he went wrong way up the 1 way street, it showed a car waiting BEHIND him.

Then after going round the block, he could clearly not get in from the other side, so at a guess I’d say he’d tried that, realised he couldn’t place he was going was on the 1 way street, so got the guy he was delivering to out to block the road whilst he came in from the wrong side.

I had a good laugh about it, but I think it’s clear what had happened and the editing made him look like more of a plonker than he really was, although he comes across as a complete ■■■

I didn’t know sutcliffe was a trucker.

iv been going through france for 11 years i thought bonjour meant hello but dixon says otherwise

has someone had a word with Dixon about his curtains seem to be pulled back a little more so he can actually see out the window. what an absolute embarassment to the transport industry that guy is. makes my toes curl. No mention of the 100’s of lads been made redudant and depots closing down?

It’s so his fan club can see him, give the guy a break, if he pulls the curtains round a bit nobody will be able to adorn him with the knickers he craves so much :grimacing:

Solly:
What kind of prick would ask female viewers and “Spotters” to send him unused knickers?

He seems to be rather missing the point of this fetish.

Possibly he doesn’t like the Stobart range of undergarments and prefers something a little more, err, delicate, with a hint of lace, and doesn’t want to launder them before wearing them? Not judging, just saying.

Cool breeze.

I’ll judge him…Ah maybe not!

Warm Scirocco.

Thats what i though aswell, he probably had to go the wrong way down the street as it was the only was in and it looked like he only went about 50 yeards anyway with a banks man.

Also it was noone would be intrested in hearing him say how simple the job was or how wide the corners were, its all put on for the TV and that programme has raised the profile of ES logistics, i have heard plenty of people witch no intrest in trucks saying what a good job ESL must do and what a good company they are so that programme probably ticked all the boxes for the people that made it and ESL

Was it me being blind, but didnt anyone else notice that ‘Tim Fox’ nearly take out a vehicle on the duel carriageway?

Nope, I spotted that too I think, the camera was on him as he changed lane, and you could see the car in his mirror braking to avoid colliding with him.

That the one you seen??

Was the car silver, if so then yes that was the one

Rikki-UK:
Does this programme show the true nature of our industry? Probably not, However going by the number of purile, childish , abusive and offensive posts I have to remove from this thread and the other one, it probably shows the public a better image of members of our industry than some of the members on here can manage. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

I have to agree with the above, I know loads of people who watch this programme, who have nothing whatsoever to do with transport, and they love it, if it’s bringing transport into people’s living rooms, in a positive way, then what’s the problem. We all know it’s bulled up, but I’d rather have this on tv than something that portrays us as tramps… We all complain on here about the way we’re looked upon by the public, but you can’t take it away from Stobart’s, they portray a good image to anyone who is not involved with transport, how many times have you been sat on services, and seen someone pull in, in a truck that’s not been washed for months, and driver looks like stig of the dump. We have to raise the standards in this industry if we’re going to get more respect from joe public I’m afraid…

Maybe M Dixon has got his head screwed on better than some of you think, his goal might be to carve out a better career than driving, by becoming some kind of a celebrity, you don,t need to be talented or have some kind of skill nowadays to be famous, look at some of them cabbages off Big brother that have made a fortune over the years for example :open_mouth: Maybe next year while we are all still facing up to all the crap and drudgery that the job brings, Mr D will be in the jungle with Ant & Dec on his way to making his first million, I aint Stobart’s biggest fan by any means, but good luck to the lad I say !

You fancy him!
