How many firms now days no matter what type of buisness they are in actually own anything. I guess that’s why when they go pop there is nothing available to get money back for people owed anything.
I remember someone from Maxi Haulage management saying years ago it was going to go pear shaped for Stobarts as they don’t own anything. It’s all well and good when you are busy but let’s say another recession comes along soon and you still have all them payments to make.

As Odd Days said I doubt many large logistics companies or quite a few smaller ones own their vehicles, but that doesn’t mean its a poor business model and if you have so many vehicles I should think there are always some coming to the end of contract, so if you get a downturn you just don’t replace them.

I think i read somewhere that Warrington Council have sought reassurance from Stobbies about rent for the Appleton HQ. The council bought it and leased it back to Stobbies. There was an outcry at the time of the purchase.

That’s unusual - most times it’s the council selling off their buildings and leasing them back.
On some contracts the customer owns/leases the vehicles and the logistics company Wincanton, XPO etc just drive them.
Ive always thought Stobarts was one of those companies that has many people or other companies bleeding them dry till the money runs out.
My guess is thats whats happened here.

im curious as to your reply there as by doing so it would imply that you dont think his last post isnt the same fantasy made up drivvle as the rest of them?
he dont work for stobarts,but he just drives a stobby truck and gets paid through stobbys agency after being allocated his own shiny truck,making so much money he will only work till 2 days before xmas then retire till april.
all this is just after posting about getting paid late and being so skint and destitute to be hopping on the dole with emergency loans. .
my mum always told me that liars always have to have a good memory, and similar to the other few similar ex phd wazzoks,then once again he gets caught out.
i just feel sorry for the posters that take his pish seriously enough to reply.

Seeing as you still haven’t grasped what’s going in, I’ll explain with crayons…
You work for the agency called “logistics people”.
The agency called “logistics people” is set up and run by Stobart.
Therefore, even though you are told by “logistics people” where to go, and when, you actually 'work ’ for Stobart.
The reason Stobart does this, is so that they don’t have to pay your tax, National Insurance, or holiday pay.
They also don’t have to pay you anything when they make you redundant, or worry about back pay when they go bust…
If you still don’t understand this, I can explain it in simple terms, but I’ll need to get the puppets out for that.
